Preparedness saves lives! The Technological University of the Philippines – Taguig conducted an 𝚞𝚗𝚊𝚗𝚗𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚌𝚎𝚍 𝚎𝚖𝚎𝚛𝚐𝚎𝚗𝚌𝚢 𝚙𝚛𝚎𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚎𝚍𝚗𝚎𝚜𝚜to ensure that everyone on campus is ready to respond effectively in times of emergencies.

Students, faculty, staff, janitors, maintenance personnel, and canteen concessionaires actively participated in performing the duck, cover, and hold technique, evacuation procedures, familiarization of evacuation sites, use of fire extinguishers, and the bucket relay activity to put out fire. The student medics also showcased their skills through a capability demonstration on emergency response.

This activity was led by the Crisis Management Team of TUP-Taguig, headed by the Campus Director, 𝓓𝓻. 𝓡𝓮𝔁𝓶𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓮 𝓕. 𝓓𝓮𝓬𝓪𝓹𝓲𝓪 𝓙𝓻., in collaboration with the Barangay Western Bicutan LGU, under the leadership of 𝓑𝓻𝓰𝔂. 𝓒𝓪𝓹𝓽𝓪𝓲𝓷 𝓟𝓮𝓭𝓻𝓲𝓽𝓸 𝓑. 𝓑𝓮𝓻𝓶𝓪𝓼.

In line with the 𝓝𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓵 𝓒𝓸𝓶𝓶𝓲𝓼𝓼𝓲𝓸𝓷 𝓸𝓯 𝓢𝓮𝓷𝓲𝓸𝓻 𝓒𝓲𝓽𝓲𝔃𝓮𝓷𝓼 (𝓝𝓒𝓢𝓒)’𝓼 nationwide observance of the 𝓔𝓵𝓭𝓮𝓻𝓵𝔂 𝓕𝓲𝓵𝓲𝓹𝓲𝓷𝓸 𝓦𝓮𝓮𝓴 (𝓔𝓕𝓦) launched today, with the theme “Embracing Age: Living a Life with Dignity and Purpose,” the Technological University of the Philippines–Taguig proudly joins in honoring our beloved senior citizens.

As part of the celebration, 𝑫𝒓. 𝑽𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑻. 𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒏 delivered an inspiring talk titled “𝓡𝓮𝓲𝓷𝓿𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓢𝓮𝓵𝓯 𝓪𝓯𝓽𝓮𝓻 60” 𝓪𝓷𝓬𝓱𝓸𝓻𝓮𝓭 𝓸𝓷 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓶𝓮 “𝓔𝓶𝓫𝓻𝓪𝓬𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓐𝓰𝓮: 𝓛𝓲𝓿𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓪 𝓛𝓲𝓯𝓮 𝔀𝓲𝓽𝓱 𝓓𝓲𝓰𝓷𝓲𝓽𝔂 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓟𝓾𝓻𝓹𝓸𝓼𝓮.” Her lecture shared meaningful insights on how seniors can rediscover themselves, remain productive, and continue living purposeful lives while adapting to the ever-changing world and building positive relationships with the younger generation.

The Employees’ Lounge of the Technological University of the Philippines–Taguig is a collaborative project of the 𝓣𝓤𝓟 𝓕𝓪𝓬𝓾𝓵𝓽𝔂 𝓐𝓼𝓼𝓸𝓬𝓲𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷 (𝓣𝓤𝓟𝓕𝓐) 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓣𝓤𝓟 𝓣𝓪𝓰𝓾𝓲𝓰 𝓔𝓶𝓹𝓵𝓸𝔂𝓮𝓮𝓼 𝓐𝓼𝓼𝓸𝓬𝓲𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷 (𝓣𝓤𝓟𝓣𝓔𝓐) — thoughtfully created to provide a comfortable and inclusive space for all employees.

Furnished with cozy furniture, warm lighting, and refreshing indoor plants, the lounge aims to promote mental well-being, encourage cross-departmental interactions, and foster a positive work environment that enhances both collaboration and productivity.

This initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3 – Good Health and Well-Being, by nurturing a healthy and balanced work atmosphere, and SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, by fostering a workplace culture that values employee engagement, motivation, and shared growth.

The Technological University of the Philippines–Taguig successfully conducted a Seminar-Workshop on the Impact Assessment of Extension Projects aimed at enhancing the capability of faculty members to evaluate the outcomes and impacts of their respective community extension initiatives.

This activity was organized by the 𝑻𝑼𝑷-𝑻𝒂𝒈𝒖𝒊𝒈 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑬𝒙𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒔 , under the leadership of 𝑫𝒓. 𝑯𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝑴. 𝑻𝒊𝒃𝒐, Assistant Director for Research and Extension, and facilitated by Ms. Cindy Q. Maldecir, Science Research Analyst, together with Dr. Lieda A. Sobida, Head of Extension Services.

The event was graced by 𝑫𝒓. 𝑹𝒆𝒙𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆 𝑭. 𝑫𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒂, 𝑱𝒓., Campus Director, who delivered the opening remarks, emphasized the importance of aligning research and extension programs with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The seminar provided valuable insights to faculty participants from different programs on how to effectively design and implement impact assessments for their projects, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and community development priorities.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒄𝒆 𝑺𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒓, 𝑴𝒓. 𝑭𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒔 𝑱𝒐𝒉𝒏 𝑭. 𝑭𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒂𝒐, 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔–𝑳𝒐𝒔 𝑩𝒂ñ𝒐𝒔, for generously sharing his expertise on the Foundations, Theories, and Principles of Impact Assessment, as well as the Tools and Methods for Quantitative and Qualitative Impact Evaluation.

Mr. Faderogao also conducted a hands-on workshop on developing the Theory of Change (ToC) and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Frameworks for Research and Extension, guiding participants in crafting effective, evidence-based assessment models.

This meaningful initiative reinforces TUP–Taguig’s commitment to promoting excellence in research, innovation, and community engagement toward sustainable development.

The INTENSE Program Information Session of 𝓚𝓾𝓱𝓷 𝓢𝓱𝓪𝓷 𝓤𝓷𝓲𝓿𝓮𝓻𝓼𝓲𝓽𝔂, 𝓣𝓪𝓲𝔀𝓪𝓷 was successfully conducted on October 14, 2025, at the Director's Office, TUP Taguig Campus. The event was organized in collaboration with the 𝚃𝚊𝚒𝚠𝚊𝚗 𝙸𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚗𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚊𝚕 𝚃𝚊𝚕𝚎𝚗 𝙲𝚒𝚛𝚌𝚞𝚕𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝙱𝚊𝚜𝚎- 𝙿𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚒𝚙𝚙𝚒𝚗𝚎𝚜, introducing the 𝙸𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚗𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚊𝚕 𝙸𝚗𝚍𝚞𝚜𝚝𝚛𝚒𝚊𝚕 𝚃𝚊𝚕𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚜 𝙴𝚍𝚞𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚂𝚙𝚎𝚌𝚒𝚊𝚕 (𝙸𝙽𝚃𝙴𝙽𝚂𝙴) 𝙿𝚛𝚘𝚐𝚛𝚊𝚖, which offers international study and employment opportunities in Taiwan.

The session was led by the Campus Director, Dr. Rexmelle F. Decapia Jr., and attended by the assistant directors, department heads of various programs, and the head of student affairs, who showed their support for global academic engagement. The alumni and graduating students are also present online because they are potential candidates for the program.

TUP Taguig was also honored to welcome three distinguished guests from Kun Shan University—Dr. Hsiao-Yen Chu, Director of the Micro & Precision Manufacturing Center; Ms. Tina Chang, Project Manager of the Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs of the INTENSE Program; and Ms. M. Joy M. Fojas, General Manager of the Taiwan International Talent Circulation Base–Philippines Headquarter Office. Their presence and insights inspired the TUPT community to explore the vast opportunities offered by the INTENSE Program, fostering a stronger connection between TUP Taguig and partner institutions in Taiwan.

In celebration of World Mental Health Day, the Guidance and Counseling Office will be conducting a mental health seminar titled:

✨ The Psychological Toll of Bullying: Anxiety and Depression in Students

Join us as we raise awareness about the profound impact bullying has on students’ mental health.

This event will explore the critical connection between bullying and mental health, specifically its links to anxiety and depression. Through this session, we aim to:

🔍 Understand the psychological effects bullying has on mental health.
🔍 Recognize early warning signs of distress in students.
🔍 Develop coping strategies and peer-support practices.
🔍 Learn about available resources on campus and in the community.
