As we kick off this month-long celebration of the National Teachers' Month, starting today, September 5, and leading up to the worldwide observance of World Teachers' Day on October 5, let us come together in a heartfelt celebration to honor and convey our profound appreciation to our exceptional educators.

As UMak begins its journey to aim beyond better, its University officials headed by its President, Dr. Elyxzur C. Ramos geared themselves up for an orientation by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities, also known as PAASCU, a leading accrediting agency pursuing the culture of quality and excellence in the field of education.

Facilitated by the Center for Quality Management and Development (CQMD), the insightful online orientation was held on August 24, 2023, and was conducted by Dr. Lucille Calairo.

PAASCU accreditation is believed to be challenging and a steep uphill climb. Still, with the support and cooperation of the UMak community, this endeavor is bound to reach greater heights.

In order to enhance the capabilities and empower the employees of UMak, the Center for Quality Management and Development (CQMD) is collaborating with the College of Innovative Teacher Education (CITE) to facilitate an in-house training series, entitled "Empower and Leverage Employee Values and Aptitude Towards Excellence in UMak" (ELEVATE UMak). The training series will cover a diverse array of topics through its sessions scheduled on September 1, 15, 29, and October 13, 2023.

Registered participants are expected to attend the sessions physically at the Multimedia Room 1012, located in the Health and Physical Sciences Building, or virtually via UMak's official YouTube channel, https://youtube.com/

ELEVATE UMak stands as a noble initiative and platform for learning and professional growth. By equipping UMak's employees with valuable tools and knowledge, the initiative aims to impact the career and daily lives of our Heron employees.
