Our Memorial Week Family Worship

Since our Memorial Day celebration is fast approaching, we used our family worship time this week to re-learn Jehovah’s love for mankind by sacrificing his Son, Jesus, for our sins.
On April 4, at sundown, please join us in commemorating Jesus' death.

Good things come from listening to Jesus. - John 3:16; 8:28-30; and Acts 4:12.

We can listen to God’s Son by reading the Bible accounts of his life. There are many wonderful things that Jesus has to tell us. You will enjoy learning these things that are written in the Bible. And it will also bring you happiness if you tell your friends the good things you learn.

Did you know that Jesus died for us to replace the perfect life that Adam lost? He is perfect like Adam but the only difference is he obeyed God.

In our family worship this week:
- We read and discuss chapter 37 of the book “Learn from the Great Teacher.”
- It helped us teach Sem and Sedi why did Jesus have to die and why we celebrate his death anniversary. Sem and Sedi learned to appreciate what Jehovah and Jesus did, to fix Adam’s mistake that resulted in death that we inherit.
- We then watch the video “The Ransom” from Become Jehovah’s Friend series.
- We then prepared an online invitation for the upcoming memorial. Sedi did the wine and bread artwork while Sem helped with the layout design of the invitation.

Make Jehovah God Happy | JW.ORG Children’s Videos 06/03/2021

Did you know?...

It is easy to do what is right when everyone else is but doing what is right can be pretty hard when others are trying to get us to do wrong. How can we help our kids to learn to resist temptation?

In our family worship this week:

- We read and discuss Chapter 9 of the book “Learn From The Great Teacher.”

- It helped us teach Sem and Sedi how Jesus example can help them say no to different kind of temptations that may come their way as they grow old.

- We then watch the video “Make Jehovah God Happy”

- Sem and Sedi takes turn in acting out how Satan tried to tempt Jesus and how he used the Bible to send Satan away.

Did you know?...

Even Jesus had to learn to be obedient?
To whom he needs to obey?
And what can we learn from Jesus’ example?

This week in our family worship:
- We read and discuss chapter 7 of Learn From Great Teacher book.
- Then we watched a video about Caleb from JW.org for practical application.
- You can find the link of materials we used below.

Sem and Sedi learned that even Jesus once found it hard to obey his father. But he wanted God’s will to be done and not his own, he went ahead and did what God wanted rather than what he thought would be best.

When Jesus faced death, his obedience was put to the ultimate test. During that dark day, “he learned obedience” in the fullest sense. He did his Father’s will, not his own. (Luke 22:42)

Jesus was obedient to his heavenly Father, and the Bible tells children to obey their parents. (Read Ephesians 6:1-3)

Time Line of Jesus’ Life | JW.ORG Children’s Songs 12/02/2021

Did you know?....

It's important for us to know the truth about Jesus. Why? Because the Bible says: “This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.” (John 17:3) Yes, really coming to know Jehovah God and Jesus Christ can lead to everlasting life on a paradise earth. (John 14:6) Furthermore, Jesus sets the best example of how to live and how to treat others. (John 13:34, 35) Last week we discussed about God and His name Jehovah. Now Sem and Sedi learned about what the Bible really teaches about Jesus Christ.

Some important key scriptures that we learn:

Luke 1:32
Before Jesus was born, the angel Gabriel told Mary: "This one will be great and will be called Son of the Most High."

Matthew 17:5
When Jesus was being baptized, God's own voice confirmed his own identity: "This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved."

John 14:28
Jesus did not pretend to be someone he was not. He did not tell people that he was God. He said: "The Father is greater than I am."

John 14:31
Jesus loved his Father.

What Is God’s Name? Does God Have a Name? | Videos 03/02/2021

DID YOU KNOW?...

God’s name actually occurs some 7,000 times throughout the original-language text of the Bible. Although he has many titles, such as “God Almighty,” “Sovereign Lord,” and “Creator,” he honors his worshippers by inviting them to address him by his personal name. It is Jehovah’s will that his name be known. The Bible states: “May people know that you, whose name is Jehovah, you alone are the Most High over all the earth.”—Psalm 83:18.

Jesus set the example in making known God’s name. In what has been called the Our Father or the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus taught his followers to petition God with the words: “Let your name be sanctified.” (Matthew 6:9) Jesus himself prayed to God: “Father, glorify your name.” (John 12:28) Jesus made glorifying God’s name a priority in his life, and for this reason he could say in prayer: “I have made your name known to them and will make it known.”—John 17:26.

To teach Sem and Sedi the importance of God’s name, we study Chapter 4 of Learn From the Great Teacher book and watch these videos! By the way these are available in many different languages!

We live in an increasingly “connected” world thanks to advances in technology and the Internet. Many young people have access or even own their own smart phones, the present flood of communications technology may only intensify, creating even more challenges for parents in regard to supervising, training, and disciplining their children.

For today's family worship, we watched the video on the link below, and each one of us made a promise on how to make use best of our time.

The Bible urges us 'to buy out time,' that is, use time wisely in spiritual pursuits. (Ephesians 5:16)

The article below have helped us how to prepare ourselves, yes, us, not our kids. We need to make sure we are up for the challenge to train, supervise, restrict, and protect our children. While the video can help us teach our kids the value of using our time wisely. We hope this helps you too.

Us adults tend to view the world of children as happy and carefree. After all, kids don’t have jobs to keep or bills to pay, so what could they possibly have to worry about?

Plenty! Even very young kids have worries and feel stress to some level. As kids get older, academic and social pressures (especially from trying to fit in) create stress.

So how can we help our kids? As their loving parents, we need to make sure that our children have adequate time for rest and wholesome family activities. Pointing to the need for balance, wise King Solomon wrote: “Better is a handful of rest than a double handful of hard work and striving after the wind.”—Ecclesiastes 4:6.

This article could help us help our children cope with stress specially in this time of pandemic.

DID YOU KNOW. . . ?
A visual aid often makes a clearer or a more lasting impression on the mind than does the spoken word.

Jesus Christ used visual aids, and we can learn from him. When visual aids are coupled with the spoken word, information is received through two senses. This may help to hold the attention of your child and to strengthen the impression made.

In homeschooling, you might draw a student’s attention to a picture that is related to what you are studying and ask your child to tell you what he sees.

To learn more about how to use visual aids effectively, you can check out this link https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1102001118

DID YOU KNOW. . .?
Technology can make it hard for us to focus?

The more we use the Web, the more we train our brain to be distracted—to process information very quickly and very efficiently but without sustained attention.

We are experiencing it nowadays with our WFH setup, and is extra challenging when you have two boys, 6 and 10 year old boys who loves to ask a lot of why questions on almost everything that tickles their curious minds. So I am trying this one out, but the important piece here is we must provide an equivalent focus and undivided time with them later after our work.

This article can also helps those struggling to focus with so many distractions surrounding us.
