Senator Renato "Compañero" Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology High School joins the nationwide observation of the 122nd Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence from Spain held on June 12, 1898.

The commemoration of June 12, 2020, carries the theme, “Kalayaan 2020: Tungo sa Bansang Malaya, Nagbabayanihan, at Ligtas (Kalayaan 2020: Towards a Free, United, and Safe Nation)” in various celebration sites across the nation.

Philippine Independence Day 2020 is celebrating the nation’s heroic frontliners in the battle against the coronavirus disease pandemic amid simpler ceremonies following health and safety protocols of the community quarantine to stop the spread of COVID-19.

The lead agency (NHCP) also encourages people to display the Philippine Flag in homes, offices, and other buildings. On Independence Day itself, Filipinos are asked to take pictures while holding a flaglet and a sign that says, “Thank you, frontliners!”

“Through these simple acts, we can celebrate our freedom even while staying at home. As we have said before, this pandemic will not stop us Filipinos from celebrating our freedom, a freedom won and defended by our heroes past and present,” said the NHCP.

"Commemorating the past to improve the present and to lead the change in the future!"

6. Our judges, committees and the technical support; and
7. Lastly, our candidates and their parents for supporting the whole project! 💖
