To the MGCNLCA Community:

Peace and grace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

At this time in our nation’s history, when darkness, confusion, and hopelessness seem to loom heavily over the Philippines, we are reminded of our call as God’s people to stand in the gap and intercede for our country. Prayer is both our refuge and our weapon—an expression of faith that God is sovereign, that He hears the cries of His people, and that He is able to bring justice, righteousness, and healing to our land.

With this, we would like to share with you a prayer entitled “Standing in the Gap: A Prayer for the Philippines.” It is our hope that this will unite us in lifting our beloved nation to the Lord—praying for our leaders, for the oppressed, and for all of us as citizens to walk in righteousness and integrity.

May this prayer not only move us to seek God’s mercy for the Philippines but also challenge us to live as His faithful witnesses in our daily lives. Together, let us believe that the Philippines belongs to God and that His purposes for our nation will stand.

In Christ,
Mrs. Helen K. Villanueva
School Director

We couldn’t be prouder! 🎓💚

Congratulations to our very own, Eion Nikolai S. Chua, for graduating Magna cm Laude with highest honors from Harvard University! Eion earned a double degree in Chemistry and Economics, along with a Master’s degree in Chemistry and Chemical Biology.

After studying at MGC New Life Christian Academy from preschool to Grade 7, Eion transferred to the International School Manila in Grade 8 on a full scholarship. He was later accepted into Harvard University, where he not only excelled academically but also thrived in extracurricular activities. Eion, your dedication, brilliance, and faith is a powerful example of God's grace, mercy and faithfulness in your life. As you step into new frontiers, know that your MGC New Life family celebrates you and stands with you in prayer and praise. Once a New Lifer, always a New Lifer!

Faith Caitlin C. Ng, the incoming Editor-in-Chief of Lifenews, achieved a historic milestone as she secured 1st Place in the Newswriting (English, Secondary Level) category at the 2025 National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) held in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, from May 19 to 23, 2025.

Ng outshone other top student journalists from across the country to clinch the championship, representing the National Capital Region (NCR). She earned this opportunity after emerging as the 1st Place winner at the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) held last February, where she represented Taguig-Pateros (TAPAT).

This victory is particularly remarkable as it marks both Ng’s debut at this prestigious national competition and the first time a Lifenews staffer has qualified for the NSPC. Ng’s outstanding achievement reflects her exceptional journalistic skills, relentless dedication, and passion for the craft. She is mentored by Lifenews head adviser and former GMA-7 broadcast journalist, Richelle Sy-Kho.

Her triumph not only brings immense pride to MGC New Life Christian Academy but also brings honor to the entire NCR region. Faith’s journey is a shining testament to how, with God’s guidance, hard work, and purpose, one can achieve national recognition and inspire others to aim high.

Congratulations, Faith! The whole MGC New Life community is extremely proud of you! To God be all the Glory!

Ng earned the right to represent the National Capital Region after topping the Regional Schools Press Conference last February representing Taguig-Pateros. This is after making it through the elimination round of the Division Schools Press Conference last January in the same category.

Her win marks the first time a Lifenews staffer has not only reached the NSPC, but triumphed as champion in the prestigious competition. 💚
