Commodore Pereyra PCG began her government service with the Judge Advocate General Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in 1996. As a legal officer, she served in prosecution, procurement, administration, claims, and command legal functions. These early years gave her a strong foundation in law, procedure, fairness, and accountabilityโprinciples that would remain evident throughout her career.
In 2000, she transferred to the Philippine Coast Guard, beginning a distinguished career that would span intelligence, command, maritime security, policy development, and environmental protection. Her early assignments placed her within the intelligence community, serving at the Office of the Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Intelligence before taking on field assignments across Southeastern Mindanao, Southern Tagalog, and Central Eastern Visayas. She later assumed command of Coast Guard Station San Jose, leading maritime patrols, law enforcement operations, and search and rescue missions.
Building on her operational and intelligence experience, Commodore Pereyra PCG went on to hold a series of key leadership positions within the Coast Guard Fleet, National Headquarters, maritime security offices, project management units, and senior intelligence organizations. Her expertise also gained international recognition when, in 2014, she served in Singapore as Senior Manager for Research at the ReCAAP Information Sharing Centre.
Her leadership continued to expand in scope and impact when she was designated Commander of the Coast Guard Civil Relations Service from 2020 to 2022. In this role, she strengthened community engagement, public communication, and humanitarian coordination. She spearheaded the development of the Serviceโs first manual and played a vital role in major disaster response operations, including relief efforts following Typhoon Rolly in her home province of Catanduanes.
Recognizing her contributions, the Philippine Coast Guard promoted her to the rank of Commodore in 2022 and designated her as Chief of Staff of the Maritime Security and Law Enforcement Command, where she helped enhance coordination among operational units and strengthened command and control systems across the organization.
Her career subsequently shifted toward environmental protection and maritime incident response. She served as Director of the National Operations Center for Oil Pollution, where she led response efforts during the MTKR Terra Nova oil spill incident in 2024. She later assumed command of the Marine Science Investigation Force and served as Deputy Commander of the Marine Environmental Protection Command, further advancing the Coast Guardโs environmental stewardship initiatives.
Alongside her operational responsibilities, Commodore Pereyra PCG remained an advocate for Women, Peace, and Security (WPS). She played a key role in developing the Harmonized MARSLEC Women, Peace and Security Action Plan and championed the integration of WPS principles into marine environmental protection and disaster response programs. As a Gender and Development advocate, she also promoted inclusivity, empowerment, and equal opportunities within the uniformed service.
The culmination of her extensive leadership experience came in November 2025, when she was designated Deputy Commander of the Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command. In this capacity, she oversaw training standards, academic policies, and professional discipline, helping ensure that Coast Guard education and doctrine remained responsive to evolving operational demands while upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
