The event introduced ROBOTCU to organization members as well as the organization's mission, vision, goal, responsibilities, and benefits. The committees were also introduced for members to also showcase themselves in their own way to help the organization.

Progress should never come at the cost of our environment.

Artificial Intelligence sure can make things efficient. It could probably even make things better. But at what cost does this bring?

Your phone, laptop, or desktop heats up every time you use it extensively. That's because it processes a certain amount of data within its internal components. When you render an image, video, or use your mobile data extensively, you notice that your device may heat up. Now imagine that but a thousand times more within a specific area.

An AI Data Center is packed up with many of those computing devices. When you prompt an AI, it doesn't use your phone to gather or calculate data to answer your question. A data center does the job. That's when the cooling comes in. To continuously run these facilities, it needs energy and water. It needs the energy to continue running the hardware, and it needs water, the cheapest form of cooling mechanism to prevent the hardware from overheating.

According to the Environmental and Energy Study Institute, large data center can consume up to 5 million gallons of water per day, equivalent to the water use of a town populated by 10,000 to 50,000 people (Barnuevo, 2025).

Are we really going down the right path?

This event brought expectations to freshmen regarding their chosen program as well as the opportunity to familiarize themselves in their environment.

Organizations, committees, policies, and new faculty members were also introduced along with performances and engaging booths for everyone to enjoy.

We thank everyone who participated in the event, especially the student officers, volunteers, and faculty members who helped making this event not only possible but also enjoyable—your efforts did not go unnoticed.
