Code & Build Bootcamp Kickoff

The Robotics Club of Taguig City University (RoboTCU) officially commenced the Code & Build Bootcamp last October 20.

This program aims to bring together our fellow students from the College of Information and Communication Technology (CICT) from first to fourth year, to enhance their coding and development skills through collaboration and hands-on learning.

Throughout the bootcamp, participants will explore React.js, Tailwind CSS, and GitHub, gaining practical experience in web development and project management.

We look forward to seeing our participants learn, guide, and build together as we continue this journey throughout the academic year.

| CICT Debate Team Triumphs in Prestigious UN-Style Competition, Showcasing Excellence in Diplomacy and Critical Discourse.

In a remarkable first for the College of Information and Communication Technology (CICT), two students stepped into the shoes of global diplomats—and walked away with a win. Representing Nepal in a Model United Nations-style debate, Paul Samuel Del Valle and Aaron Rodriguez proved that excellence isn’t just about preparation—it’s about passion, perseverance, and presence of mind.

Despite missing two crucial briefings and starting their preparation late Sunday night, Mr. Del Valle and Mr. Rodriguez refused to let time—or nerves—define their performance. Fueled by determination and a shared sense of responsibility, they stayed up until midnight researching Nepal’s geopolitical and economic landscape, knowing they had to make every minute count. When they arrived at the venue, they quickly realized they were the only ones without printed guides—just an iPad they couldn’t even use on stage. With no script to lean on, Mr. Del Valle had to deliver his opening statement entirely from memory, battling nerves and blank moments. Thankfully, Mr. Rodriguez was right there, quietly whispering support when it mattered most. Their teamwork shone through as they tackled the debate’s central issue: should Nepal prioritize foreign investment or focus on strengthening local businesses? They argued passionately for the latter, citing Nepal’s landlocked geography and vulnerability to regional powers as reasons why self-reliance was not just strategic, but necessary. What made the experience even more meaningful was the respectful exchange of ideas—especially with the team representing China. Rebuttals were sharp but civil, and after the debate, handshakes and congratulations flowed freely. For Mr. Del Valle and Mr. Rodriguez, it wasn’t just a win—it was a moment of growth, camaraderie, and proof that heart and hustle can carry you far.

The CICT Debate Team’s win wasn’t just about taking home a title—it was about heart, grit, and teamwork. Mr. Del Valle and Mr. Rogdriguez proved that even with last-minute preparation and no printed script, confidence and collaboration can carry you through. Their thoughtful stance on Nepal’s economic priorities and respectful exchange with fellow delegates showed maturity beyond the podium. More than a victory, it was a moment of growth, connection, and pride.

| CICT Soars as Rodriguez and Silapan Assume SSC Leadership Roles

The College of Information and Communication Technology (CICT) of Taguig City University proudly recognizes two of its outstanding students who have been newly elected to significant positions in the TCU Supreme Student Council (SSC) for the current academic year.

Mr. Francis Aaron Rodriguez, a student of the Bachelor of Science in Information Systems program, has been elected as the Treasurer of the Supreme Student Council. His appointment reflects his peers’ confidence in his capability to handle the council’s financial responsibilities with integrity and diligence.

Meanwhile, Ms. Francess Kyla Silapan, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science student, has been elected as the Chairperson of the SSC. She will concurrently continue her service as the Student Regent of Taguig City University, a role that underscores her commitment to representing the voice and interests of the student body.

The CICT administration and community commend both officers for their exemplary leadership, academic dedication, and continued service to the university. Their election stands as a testament to the College’s enduring contribution to student governance and university development.

CICT Director Christian Delayun, who served as Vice Chairperson of the SSC Elections and member of the Electoral Board Committee, highlighted the achievement in a privilege speech following the polls. He expressed pride in the CICT’s performance, noting that its students continue to excel not just within their college but across the university.

However, Delayun was quick to temper the celebration with a call for unity.

“Iisa pa rin tayo dito, we are one in service for the students,” he said, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and humility in university-wide efforts.

The Robotics Club of Taguig City University invites all College of Information and Communication Technology (CICT) students from first year to fourth year to join our upcoming Bootcamp: Code & Build. It is designed to help you enhance your coding and development skills while collaborating with fellow students.

Participants may join as:

Students – to learn and gain hands-on experience in coding and development.
Guides – senior students who are willing to mentor and assist others throughout the sessions.

Topics to be covered:

React.js – Building dynamic and powerful web applications

Tailwind CSS – Designing responsive and modern interfaces

GitHub – Uploading and managing projects effectively

📌 Registration closes on October 5.
📌 The bootcamp will run throughout the entire academic year.

Whether you are just beginning your programming journey or looking to strengthen your existing skills, this bootcamp will provide you with the knowledge and practical experience to grow as a developer.
