✨ Strengthening Gender-Responsive Justice in Higher Education! ✨

Bohol Island State University (BISU) proudly participates in the Training and Orientation for Committees on Decorum and Investigation (CODIs) of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) on Handling Gender-Based Sexual Harassment (GBSH) Cases, organized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System – Central Office.

📍 Sotogrande Hotel, Iloilo City
📚 The training covers essential topics on the Legal and Policy Framework on GBSH in HEIs, Roles and Responsibilities of CODI, Procedures in Handling CODI Cases, Gender-Responsive Approaches in Handling GBV Cases, as well as case studies, mock case handling, and processing workshops.

This capacity-building activity reinforces the commitment of HEIs to ensure that complaints and cases involving gender-based sexual harassment are handled with fairness, confidentiality, due process, sensitivity, and a gender-responsive approach.

💜 Through continuous learning and strengthened CODI mechanisms, we move closer to creating safe, inclusive, respectful, and gender-responsive higher education institutions for all.

BISU and HNU Hold Forum on Babaylan Leadership in Modern Academia

Faculty, staff, and students from Bohol Island State University (BISU) and Holy Name University (HNU), with guests from Tagbilaran City College, gathered on March 18, 2026, at Panda Tea Garden Suites for the GAD Talks on Babaylan Leadership in Modern Academia and Administration forum, themed “Power Rooted in Wisdom, Integrity, and Compassion.” Organized in collaboration with HNU and BISU, the event featured distinguished speakers Dr. Anne Mariquit D. Oppus, Provincial Human Resource Management and Development Officer of Bohol; Ms. Joan V. Llanos, Trainer and Women’s Rights Advocate; and Ms. Queenie Melody Fullante, DRRM Officer and Miss Bohol 2014, who shared insights on inclusive governance, transformative leadership, and resilience in academic and administrative settings. Participants actively engaged in discussions aimed at promoting values-driven leadership and empowering the next generation of leaders in higher education.
