OUR FARM IS NOT A PUBLIC GARBAGE DUMP SITE
At times, a plastic bag full of disposable baby nappies or ordinary garbage is dumped at a part of our farm along the road. You must be someone driving by. We would be grateful if you would stop throwing your "basura" more so in our bamboo garden area. Thank you.

SAVING THE WHITE-BREASTED KINGFISHER IN DISTRESS
One clear afternoon at our farm, a white-breasted kingfisher flew at full speed right through the window. I am pretty sure the glass window deceived the bird into thinking it was an open space. The kingfisher was hitting itself hard, so it dropped right to the floor. Luckily, it was able to recover after one of our staff members took care of it. It regained its freedom to fly freely after being released after two days.
Preserving our forested area of the farm makes it still possible to be a safe haven for some of the birds in danger of vanishing in our forests and grasslands-

LAYOG COUNTRY FARM'S HONESTY STORE IS STILL IN OPERATION AFTER 3 MONTHS FROM THE OPENING

So far, this small stall we have along the road not far from our farm gate still exists. The principle behind it is the little stall where we display a little of whatever available produce we have of fruit
and vegetables, and request our customers to practice SELF-
SERVICE. as no employee is there to man the store. You pick what you want and leave the payment in the box.

DAILY LIFE OF AN OLD LADY FARMER
#27 - Tree planting is a traditional activity to celebrate my birthday.

As a "pensjonista" I realized that I am satisfied with living life simply but meaningfully. Doing something I enjoy at the farm on my own terms and capacity. I am grateful for each new day and the blessings of being amidst nature.

Thanks to our farm assistants who had planted cacao and bananas today. We had a little picnic in our outside kitchen with pinikpikan mixed with fresh pechay on top, pancit and fried bangos.

#26 - "KUTLABONG" an EDIBLE PALM-LIKE BUSH growing at the farm. I have always considered this plant an ornamental one until I was informed recently by one of our farm assistants that the young shoots of the plant can be eaten. I honestly have not tasted it yet.

Does anyone here know its scientific ID? If you also have eaten this or if you have another name from your local area please share. Share your recipe too if you have been cooking this before. Thank you

DAILY LIFE OF AN OLD LADY FARMER

#24 Remembering my mother on her 9th death anniversary and how she has inspired me to operate our family farm again after it has been abandoned for decades. She was the one who reminded me that we should take care of our local bamboo the "anes" so it won't totally disappear.

In honor, of my mother, we segregated a portion of our farm as a bamboo garden which we have planted with different bamboo. species. We are currently developing the garden to make it a trekking area for visitors in the future. We named the bamboo garden Lola Juliia's Bambusetum.

Thank you, mama, for even if you are long gone I always remember you for making me aware of the power of prayer in times of grief, frustration, and hopelessness. You taught me never to forget to pray too in gratitude for joyous moments and for all the blessings I receive.

#21 - What joyous news, this lady farmer is now a grandmother!

This lovely little boy is my entry pass to the Grandmother's Club.

I believe when they say that" a newborn baby is like the beginning of all things --- wonder, hope and a dream of possibilities. " Eda J. L Sheen.

I feel so blessed and surely a garden of love is growing in abundance in this Lola's heart.
