Planning a Grand Alumni Homecoming is certainly no small feat! It's a logistical labyrinth, a test of endurance, and probably involves more coffee than sleep. But, we crushed it, yey! (Yes, that's the sound of us shamelessly blowing our own horns, and we're not sorry.)

From those initial planning sessions (we're definitely giving a knowing nod to those endless, sometimes "seen-zoned" group chat threads!) to the ex*****on of every single detail, the dedication, hard work, and tireless efforts of everyone involved (whether quietly behind the scenes or shining bright front and center!) blazed brighter than a supernova. The result? We transformed this year's 𝗛𝗜𝗖 𝗧𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗶 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 into an unforgettable, magic-filled experience.

To the entire 𝗛𝗜𝗖 𝗧𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟬– especially our incredibly generous batchmates who supported us from all corners of the globe – Damo nga Salamat han iyo suporta! Thank you, thank you, thank you.💚🤍

And of course, a big shout-out to our powerhouse Core Committee, led by our president and representatives. You didn't just bring our batch together; you orchestrated a spectacular, seamless alumni reunion! You didn't just set the bar; you launched it straight into orbit.👏

So here's to us, 𝗛𝗜𝗖 𝗧𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟬! We proved that "coming home" was not just worth it, but an absolute triumph that will resonate for years to come! (we'll probably be the ones telling the tales, but hey, we earned it!)

And finally, the night truly crescendoed into lively socials, transforming the venue into one massive, pulsating dance floor! Our fantastic live bands ensured no feet were left un-grooved.

The 𝗛𝗜𝗖 𝗧𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗶 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 wasn’t just an event; it was a colorful tapestry of memories, laughter, and the unstoppable spirit of our community. Our hearts—and definitely our well-worn dancing shoes—are beyond full! We're already counting down to the next gathering. So start practicing those moves and saving those extra bills—you know exactly how we roll! 😉

For the grand finale, our screens lit up with the SDE of this year's homecoming event, with a nostalgic dive into the host batch's journey through the years.

It's moments like these that remind us "home" isn't just a place; it's the warmth of our alumni family reuniting, celebrating decades of shared memories and proving that some bonds truly are unbreakable by time or distance.

Then, just when we thought the night couldn't get any better, came the moment we'd all been waiting for: the party! 🎉 With the raffle draw that had us erupting into cheers, lost in the delicious suspense, and reveling in the sheer joy of winning... or at least the thrilling agony of hoping! And of course, no HIC party is complete without the famous Kuratsa dance, where those legendary cash "rainstorms" were the ultimate cherry on top. Who said alumni parties can't be a little flashy?

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the fun didn’t stop—it just got brighter:

Keeping the energy flowing beautifully throughout the program, we were treated to the incredible sounds of the 𝙋𝙖𝙡𝙤 𝘼𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙖𝙙𝙤𝙧𝙨 𝙊𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖! Their intermission performances were perfect blend of classic charm and modern flair that hit all the right notes for every single generation in the house!

👩‍🏫 Next up was a truly heartfelt tribute and awarding ceremony to our mentors. To the incredible legends who doubled as teachers, counselors, and occasional miracle workers. Your guidance shaped us, and for that, we're eternally grateful.

🎉 One of the absolute highlights of the night was honoring 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟭𝟵𝟳𝟱 𝗝𝘂𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀. They not only graced us with their presence but also absolutely shone, proving that the HIC spirit simply gets finer with age. Right after receiving their well-deserved tokens, 𝙈𝙧. 𝘼𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙤 𝙋𝙤𝙗𝙧𝙚 𝙅𝙧. delivered an inspiring acceptance speech—50 years of HIC legacy never looked so effortlessly cool!

🏗𝙈𝙧. 𝙍𝙤𝙮 𝙉𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙟𝙖 our very own Alumni Association President, , took the stage to share a quick update on the association's current project. He also made sure to shine a well-deserved spotlight on the dedicated alumni whose efforts helped bring this vision to life.

🤝 Then came the symbolic, and highly anticipated moment of passing the torch (and expertly caught, thankfully!) as we formally turned over the reins of hosting the next homecoming to 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟭. And judging by 𝙈𝙨. 𝘾𝙯𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙖 𝙉𝙤𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙚 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙇𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙣𝙯𝙖𝙙’s enthusiastic acceptance speech, they're already cooking up something truly grand, and we have no doubt they'll deliver. The spotlight (and the party planning) is officially all yours!

To perfectly cap off the formal program, 𝙈𝙨. 𝙇𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙚 𝙁. 𝙈𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙤 of Batch 2000 delivered a warm, heartfelt message that truly left everyone glowing with happiness. It was the ideal send-off before the real party began!

The wait is finally over! After what felt like an eternity of anticipation (and a year's worth of superhuman planning!), we've finally landed at the 𝗛𝗜𝗖 𝗧𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗶 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 main event, and wow, did it deliver!

From the very first note of our college hymn (cue the goosebumps and a wave of emotions so strong—because, let's be real, that 𝙃𝙄𝘾 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙚 hits in ways only alumni understand after all these years), right up until the last dance, it was pure and unadulterated kind of joy.

🎤First up, our Batch 2000 Host President, 𝙈𝙧. 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙚𝙨 𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙤 𝙏𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙙𝙤, set the tone by welcoming everyone to the biggest alumni bash of the year.

📜Then, 𝙎𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝘾𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙚 𝙇. 𝙇𝙞𝙢, 𝙍𝙎𝙈, 𝙋𝙝𝘿(𝘾𝙖𝙣𝙙.), our esteemed HIC School President, shared a few words that touched hearts and resonated deeply.

🗣𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙤𝙧 𝙉𝙞𝙡𝙤 𝙈. 𝙀𝙙𝙚𝙧, PSDS & DIO of Tacloban City Schools, our former mentor, delivered a Keynote Speech so inspiring, we momentarily felt like students again—minus the pop quizzes, thank goodness! Who knew we'd still be getting life lessons from our mentors long after graduation? His talk was introduced by Batch 2000's 𝙈𝙨. 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖 𝙀𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙡 𝙇𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙨-𝘾𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙜.

𝗔 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁: 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The HIC Tacloban Homecoming celebration officially began with a solemn mass, bringing our community together before the joyful festivities. This sacred gathering offered a precious moment for reflection and deep gratitude to God, acknowledging the abundant blessings in our lives—especially the invaluable gift of community. Witnessing our fellow Misericordians in prayer was deeply inspiring, a powerful reminder of the values and faith our Alma Mater instilled in us.

𝙒𝙚'𝙧𝙚 𝙊𝙛𝙛 𝙏𝙤 𝘼 𝘽𝙪𝙯𝙯𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩: 𝘼𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙡𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨🥳

It was absolutely buzzing, and not just from the scorching sun! The energy was through the roof as guests and alumni rolled in, all geared up for what became a truly unforgettable day.

Our registration area quickly transformed into the ultimate reunion hotspot. It was pure joy watching generations of HIC grads catching up, sharing laughs, snapping enough selfies to break the internet, and getting all those much-needed "kumustahans" in before the main event even officially kicked off. This, folks, was just the warm-up—so brace yourselves for more!

What an epic start to the HIC Tacloban Grand Alumni Homecoming 2025! Our incredible alumni truly brought the streets to life with an amazing display of school spirit. It was so heartwarming to see generations of HIC graduates come together. From their decorated cars, motorcycles, and jeepneys, our alumni definitely showed up and showed out!
