🐼: Hey there! An Emergency Preparedness Plan or EPP refers to the steps you take to make sure you are safe before, during and after an emergency or natural disaster. These plans are important for your safety in both natural disasters and man-made disasters.

However, in this post, I will be giving you an EPP patrticularly for volcanic eruptions with the help of my Barba Groupmates!!

🐼: Hey there! 😄

: It's important to know how to handle kitchen fires in case of an emergency. Acting fast can make all the difference in preventing the fire from spreading. However, the method you use to put out the fire depends on the type of fire and its location.

Check out these friendly instructions to learn how to put out kitchen fires:

1. If you have a fire in a cooking pan, use an oven mitt to clap on the lid, then move the pan off the burner, and turn off the stove. The lack of oxygen will stop the flames in a pot.

2. If you can’t safely put the lid on a flaming pan or you don’t have a lid for the pan, use your fire extinguisher. Aim at the base of the fire — not the flames.

3. Never use water to put out grease fires! Water repels grease and can spread the fire by splattering the grease. Instead, try one of these methods:

4. If the fire is small, cover the pan with a lid and turn off the burner.

5. Smother the fire with a wet towel or other large wet cloth.

6. Use a fire extinguisher.

🐼: From what I have read online, hazard maps highlight areas that are impacted by or susceptible to a specific hazard. Usually, they are designed to withstand natural disasters like earthquakes, flooding, landslides, liquefaction, and tsunamis. When planners, developers, and engineers use hazard maps effectively, they can prevent exposure to certain hazards and minimize or eliminate their potential negative effects while designing other developments. This can save lives and prevent financial losses.
