The North Eastern Mindanao State University β San Miguel campus successfully concluded SILAGBO 2025 - 4th NEMSU Day today. The campus celebration was themed "Radiating Growth, Embracing Change". The carefully chosen name, SILAGBO, a portmanteau of the Cebuano words "sidlak" (radiance) and "pag-usbong" (growth), aptly symbolized the institution's optimistic outlook as it transitions under new leadership. This symbolic representation of a bright and hopeful future resonated deeply with the participating faculty, staff, and on-the-job training (OJT) students. The day began with Thanksgiving Mass at the campus chapel, setting a tone of gratitude and reflection, followed by an energetic Zumba session.
The event's setting further contributed to its success. The verdant façade of the ICT Building, shaded by tall trees, provided a naturally refreshing and inspiring backdrop for the Zumba session and other activities. This tranquil yet vibrant atmosphere cultivated a sense of community and collaboration among attendees, enhancing the overall impact of the program. In the afternoon, the Program Proper took place, followed by engaging games that promoted camaraderie and teamwork.
SILAGBO 2025's success underscores NEMSU's commitment to cultivating a dynamic and forward-thinking environment. The day culminated in a tree-planting activity at the campus Arboretum Area, symbolizing growth, sustainability, and a lasting commitment to the environment. The enthusiastic participation of the campus community reflects a shared vision for the future and a collective embrace of the changes necessary for continued progress and development. The event serves as a testament to the university's dedication to its students and its ongoing pursuit of excellence.
