A productive meeting was conducted between Ms. Maria Elvira B. Duka from UN-Habitat, Mirasol E, Verda and Mary Jane E. Asis from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) together with Ms. Alvie Elma C. Plaza, University Extension Director, and Dr. Matt Sinaca, LAMDAG Manager of Surigao del Norte State University.

The discussion centered on plans and support mechanisms for Indigenous Peoples (IP) students and future learners of SNSU, highlighting opportunities and programs that the University can provide to strengthen inclusive and accessible education.

This meaningful initiative is under the LINGAS Program of our beloved University President, Dr. Rowena A. Plando, in line with the University’s commitment to empowering communities and advancing inclusive development. 💙💛

𝘚𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘰 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 — April 15, 2026

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Internal Audit for 2026 was successfully conducted on April 15, 2026, highlighting the commitment of the University to quality management and continuous improvement in delivering extension services.
During the audit, the University Extension Office was presented by 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐞 𝐄𝐥𝐦𝐚 𝐂. 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐚, together with 𝐑𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐂. 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐨. The office was evaluated by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐘𝐚𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐧 𝐕. 𝐓𝐢𝐮, who assessed the processes, documentation, and implementation of extension programs and services.
Results of the audit revealed that the University Extension Office has effectively complied with ISO standards, demonstrating well-organized documentation and a sustained delivery of high-quality services to partner communities. The findings affirm the office’s dedication to excellence and its role in advancing community development through responsive and impactful extension initiatives.
In response to the successful audit, the University Extension Office extended its sincere appreciation to the University leadership, including 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐀. 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨, 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡, 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐲 𝐉𝐮𝐧 𝐀. 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐨, 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐨 𝐒. The office also recognized the invaluable support of 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬, 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬, 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬, 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟, and 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 and 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 whose collaboration and dedication contributed significantly to the success of the audit.
The successful ISO audit underscores the University’s continued commitment to maintaining quality standards and strengthening its extension services for the benefit of the communities it serves.
