November 22, 2024 – Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) proudly celebrates the successful culmination of its Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) partnership with the Community College of Philadelphia (CCP).

The program, titled 𝙃𝙍 𝙁𝙐𝙎𝙄𝙊𝙉: 𝘾𝙧𝙖𝙛𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙨, 𝘾𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨, focused on exploring the similarities and differences in leadership and teamwork approaches between the Philippines and the United States. Over four weeks, students from both institutions collaborated to create compelling infographic materials showcasing the unique ways each country approaches team building and leadership development.

This project provided students with a creative and interactive way to learn about cultural nuances and professional practices. By synthesizing research and personal insights, students highlighted the values, strategies, and cultural influences shaping leadership and teamwork in both countries. The final infographics reflected a rich exchange of ideas and demonstrated the students' ability to merge academic knowledge with cross-cultural understanding.

Key to the program’s success were the efforts of COIL Professor, Stephany A. Domingo of HCCCI and Dr. Gayathri Banavara of CCP, whose facilitations ensured that the collaboration remained engaging and impactful. Their leadership inspired students to dive deeper into the topic and fostered a supportive, dynamic environment for this global exchange.

Through virtual meetings and collaborative tools, students worked together to brainstorm, design, and refine their infographic materials. For the students at CCP, the program offered an opportunity to explore Filipino cultural perspectives, while HCCCI students gained valuable insights into American professional practices. This cross-cultural collaboration not only expanded their academic horizons but also equipped them with essential skills for a globalized workplace.

This partnership showcases the power of COIL in transcending borders and creating meaningful educational experiences. With the culmination of this successful project, HCCCI strengthens its commitment to international collaborations, opening doors for even more innovative initiatives in the future.

Today, November 8, 2024, Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. proudly grows new “𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗧𝗦” a Collaborative Online International Learning with the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗶𝗶 𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗶𝗹𝗼. This milestone partnership, themed "𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙊𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙨, 𝙊𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙤𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙬’𝙨 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮," marks an exciting chapter of international collaboration and cross-cultural learning.

This COIL initiative centers on the 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝘿𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙂𝙤𝙖𝙡𝙨 (𝙐𝙉𝙎𝘿𝙂𝙨) and aligns them with business strategies that honor the unique cultural heritages of the Hawaiian culture and the indigenous tribes from Surallah, Lake Sebu, and Tboli, South Cotabato. With the support of our iLab and the newest smart classroom, we are enhancing the virtual exchange experience, bringing the world into our campus like never before!

Leading today’s session were our dedicated Business Studies program head, Neressa M. Montejo, MBA, CHRA, CFMP, along with COIL Professors Mr. Eric Gatmaitan and Marvin Jay T. Blase, LPT, and esteemed guest, Ms. Naty Shazel Peña, who shared her rich experiences relevant to the course to inspire the students. The kick-off ceremony was also co-hosted by Mr. Kelly Moran and Ms. Jenna Feng from the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Today’s session began with heartfelt and enthusiastic introductions.

The Business Studies COIL Team emphasized the value of cross-cultural education and how shared norms, traditions, and values can be woven into business planning.

Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) students recently dove into an exciting global conversation on "Climate Change and Creative Art," hosted by Hong Kong Baptist University. Led by the dynamic Zambian speaker Mr. Lee Garaka, the session revealed how art can be more than just pretty pictures—it’s a powerful tool for climate activism!

Mr. Garaka shared his fascinating insights on how creativity can spark awareness about climate change, encouraging HCCCI students to view their art as a voice for the planet. From transforming eco-disasters into striking art installations to crafting impactful visual stories, students were inspired to make a difference with their talents.

With a nod to Sustainable Development Goal 13 (urgent climate action), the event left students buzzing with ideas, proving that art and climate action are a perfect match.

Our students had the incredible opportunity to participate in an eye-opening session on "Fast Fashion and Sustainable Consumption" with renowned speaker Dr. Gayathri Banavara from the USA, hosted by Hong Kong Baptist University. The discussion uncovered some shocking truths about the environmental and social impacts of the fast fashion industry—challenging all of us to rethink our daily consumption habits.
This event resonates deeply with SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, sparking important conversations about how we can contribute to sustainable practices in our everyday lives.
Some thought-provoking questions raised:
- Are our fashion choices contributing to environmental harm?
- What can we do as consumers to shift the industry toward more ethical practices?
- Can we be part of the solution to fast fashion's growing waste problem?
Our students left the session with new perspectives and ideas... but we’re only scratching the surface! There's more to uncover, more to discuss—and we can't wait to share what comes next! Stay tuned as we explore how we can apply these global insights right here in our local communities.

Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc.continues to elevate the quality of education by incorporating 𝐌𝐲𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞, an online pharmacy simulation platform developed by the 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮. This cutting-edge tool allows students to hone their dispensing skills in a risk-free environment, where they can make mistakes and learn without the fear of real-world consequences.

MyDispense simulates real-world pharmacy scenarios, giving students the opportunity to practice dispensing medications as they would in professional practice. By using this platform, students experience hands-on learning that prepares them for the complexities of the field, all within a controlled and safe setting. It’s designed to make students treat the practice as seriously as they would when working with actual patients and prescriptions.

This innovative move was championed by Dr. Erwin Faller, who brought MyDispense to HCCCI as part of his commitment to enhancing the educational experience of students enrolled in the BS Pharmacy program. Supporting this initiative are College of Allied Health Sciences Dean, Ninfa L. Galendez, RN, MAN, and BSP Program Head, Kimberly Jean B. Surmeon, RPh, MSPh, both of whom are actively utilizing the school’s iLab to maximize the platform’s potential. According to Dr. Faller, integrating this platform reflects the institution’s dedication to preparing students for the professional challenges they will face upon graduation. His initiative ensures that HCCCI students are exposed to international standards in pharmacy education, making their training more comprehensive and impactful.

For BS Pharmacy students, this is a groundbreaking opportunity to interact with a globally recognized tool. Through MyDispense, students gain confidence in their abilities, refining their skills and knowledge before stepping into real-world practice. This initiative not only strengthens HCCCI’s commitment to academic excellence but also provides its students with a competitive edge in the field of pharmacy.

Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. is taking its educational game to the next level by weaving cutting-edge technology into its curriculum. As part of this bold move, the school recently acquired a state-of-the-art robotics equipment and hosted an exciting, hands-on robotics training on September 23-24, 2024. The exclusive session was tailored for the institution’s bright Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) students, offering them a chance to dive deep into the future of tech.

This initiative aligns with HCCCI’s vision of being "a leading provider of highly skilled professionals who are globally competitive," reflecting its commitment to preparing students for the demands of the modern workforce. The selected trained students will form the pioneering batch who, under the guidance of Ma'am Gizelle Gecosala, the Laboratory In-Charge, will also take on the responsibility of training other students in the future. This peer-to-peer learning model not only enhances the robotics program but also fosters collaboration and leadership among students.

The two-day training covered the fundamentals of robotics, including robot assembly, coding, and operational strategies. Students engaged in interactive, hands-on learning activities, applying theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. By the end of the training, participants were able to operate the robots efficiently and even execute basic to advanced programming tasks, showcasing their newly acquired skills.

The acquisition of robotics technology marks a significant milestone for HCCCI in promoting innovative learning environments. This investment not only elevates the learning experience for STEM students but also reflects the school’s commitment to embracing new technologies that enrich the educational journey of its students.

But wait—the excitement didn’t stop there. These students, the chosen pioneers, will soon pass the torch—becoming the trainers themselves, sparking a chain reaction of knowledge-sharing across the student body.
