ʿĀ𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐀𝐋-𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐅ĀḌ𝐀: 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐎𝐂𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐁𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐏𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐄

From the river to the sea, the Intifāḍa (انتفاضة) rises and endures until Palestine is free. The Intifāḍa embodies the seismic force of resistance, and signifies the Palestinians’ steadfastness against colonial occupation, and their unyielding pursuit of justice amidst the ongoing genocide.

Rooted in the Balfour Declaration of 1917, which legitimized colonial dispossession, and culminating in the Nakba of 1948 when more than 750,000 Palestinians were expelled from their homeland, the Palestinian struggle for liberation has been tested with cycles of dispossession, with the First and Second Intifāḍa etched into history as timeless testaments of defiance.

Today, the genocidal assault of Zionist Israel continues, as it is armed, funded, and emboldened by colonial powers led by the United States. Nearly 70,000 Palestinians have been massacred—the overwhelming majority women and children—while Gaza itself is reduced to ashes: homes, schools, mosques, hospitals, refugee camps, and cultural landmarks indiscriminately bombed. Yet even within the abyss of destruction, solidarity and grassroots mobilization reverberates across the world.

In the spirit of solidarity and mobilization, the UP Muslim Students’ Association invites you to join us in a critical discourse as we historicize the Palestinian struggle, dissect and condemn the apartheid, locate parallels with the Bangsamoro struggle, and chart tangible paths toward collective mobilization.

To the Esteemed University Community,

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗺 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗨𝗦𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗔), 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗺 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆. After careful consideration of Islamic principles, we have noted potential conflicts and misrepresentations of core Islamic values in these events.

Our main concerns include contradictions with Islamic modesty (Haya), undue focus on physical appearance over inner character (Taqwa), and concerns about appropriate gender interactions. Additionally, pageantry may risk objectification, distract from academics and community service, and possibly cause community discord.

Therefore, USMMUSA provides this guidance to help students make faith-aligned choices. We are dedicated to our community's values, fostering inclusivity, and mutual respect. We encourage Muslim students to reflect on these principles and uphold Islamic teachings.

In conclusion, USMMUSA's definitive position is against Muslim student participation in pageantry. We respectfully urge all Muslim students to uphold this communal guidance.

USM-KCC Muslim Students’ Association says NO to Single-Use Plastics!

Dear brothers, sisters, and fellow KCCians,
As stewards (khalifah) of this Earth, it is our duty to care for the environment entrusted to us. USM-KCC MSA fully supports the NO SINGLE-USE PLASTIC POLICY (BOR no. 49 S. 2019) to keep our campus clean, green, and in harmony with nature.

🚫 No plastic bags or cellophanes
🚫 No single-use plastic bottles
🚫 No single-use plastic food containers
🚫 No non-biodegradable cups

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: “The Earth has been made for you as a place of prostration and a means of purification.” Let us honor this blessing by reducing waste and protecting our surroundings. Together, even small actions can create a lasting impact — for the environment, for our health, and for the generations to come.

🕊️ Let us be role models not just in faith, but also in action. Together, let’s say: NO to single-use plastics!

The USM-KCC MSA Presents: PANGA'N-KANEN

In its second year of participation in the annual week-long Lulinghayaw, the USM-KCC MSA showcased Bangsamoro delicacies, which the members prepared themselves (except for the Tinagtag procured from Pikit, Cotabato).
Non-muslim students were eager to taste Tinagtag, Kumukunsi, Balabed (Tinumis), Dudul, Betengan, Pelil, and Sindol; most of them offered for free taste, with complementary Native Coffee (Pamogon).

Last year, the MSA presented Kambabalegkasan, where students and faculty members tried on Bangsamoro attires.

After today's Jum'ah prayer, a Kanduli was held, foremost to thank Allah subhana huwa ta'ala for everything, then to cherish the brotherhood and sisterhood growing stronger among the members.
