From the river to the sea, the Intifāḍa (انتفاضة) rises and endures until Palestine is free. The Intifāḍa embodies the seismic force of resistance, and signifies the Palestinians’ steadfastness against colonial occupation, and their unyielding pursuit of justice amidst the ongoing genocide.
Rooted in the Balfour Declaration of 1917, which legitimized colonial dispossession, and culminating in the Nakba of 1948 when more than 750,000 Palestinians were expelled from their homeland, the Palestinian struggle for liberation has been tested with cycles of dispossession, with the First and Second Intifāḍa etched into history as timeless testaments of defiance.
Today, the genocidal assault of Zionist Israel continues, as it is armed, funded, and emboldened by colonial powers led by the United States. Nearly 70,000 Palestinians have been massacred—the overwhelming majority women and children—while Gaza itself is reduced to ashes: homes, schools, mosques, hospitals, refugee camps, and cultural landmarks indiscriminately bombed. Yet even within the abyss of destruction, solidarity and grassroots mobilization reverberates across the world.
In the spirit of solidarity and mobilization, the UP Muslim Students’ Association invites you to join us in a critical discourse as we historicize the Palestinian struggle, dissect and condemn the apartheid, locate parallels with the Bangsamoro struggle, and chart tangible paths toward collective mobilization.
