HSSD in Action: Uniting for Change

In challenging times, the Health and Social Services Department (HSSD) has showcased the power of collaboration among stakeholders. Our Criminology students from the School of Criminal Justice (SCJ) at Holy Cross College actively participated in community outreach, addressing legal and social justice issues. Their involvement not only enriched their educational experience but highlighted the importance of empathy in their future careers.

Additionally, the Faculty from the School of Arts, Sciences, and Education (SASED) provided crucial support, guiding students and enhancing initiatives through their expertise.

Together, we demonstrate that every stakeholder matters. By uniting our efforts, we create a network of support that fosters resilience and hope in our community.

Let’s continue to lift each other up! 🌱

🌍🩺 HIV/AIDS Awareness: An Informed Approach

As we continue to advocate for awareness around HIV/AIDS, it is crucial to recognize that "Awareness is power, prevention is protection, and compassion is what gives people living with HIV/AIDS the strength to keep going.”

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) affects millions worldwide, yet misconceptions persist. Educating ourselves and others is vital in reducing stigma and promoting prevention, treatment, and care.

📚 Key Points to Remember:
Awareness: Understanding how HIV is transmitted and how to protect oneself can significantly diminish new infections.
Prevention: Access to testing, safe s*x practices, and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) can safeguard individuals.
Compassion: Support from communities and loved ones plays a fundamental role in the lives of those affected, fostering resilience and hope.
