Held on 10 September 2025, the Intelligent Systems Laboratory team met with DOST-PCIEERD for the Technical Panel Review of the completed IDP project, “Establishment of an Intelligent Systems Laboratory.”

We remain grateful for the continued support and guidance as we work toward strengthening MSU-Gensan’s research capabilities and innovation ecosystem.

ISL student innovators Jade Lienar A. Galaura and Grezel Brian P. Labos, guided by Dr. Cristina P. Dadula, showcased SafeStep, an assistive smart system that helps persons with visual impairment cross roads safely, at the 1st MSU-Gensan Product Development and Innovation Summit held today at Veranza Mall, General Santos City.

The Intelligent Systems Laboratory proudly supports young engineers creating inclusive and purpose-driven technologies for Mindanao and beyond.

An innovative assistive technology developed within the Intelligent Systems Laboratory (ISL) of MSU-Gensan has been featured on GMA’s 24 Oras.

The device, known as SafeStep, is designed to support persons with visual impairment by providing motion-based detection and audio-guided signals to indicate when it is safe to cross the road. It can be integrated with existing traffic light systems to enhance pedestrian safety.

The project was mentored and guided by Dr. Cristina Dadula, leader of the Intelligent Systems Laboratory.
