The Sorsogon State University (SorSU) community proudly extends its warmest congratulations to SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, on her election as President of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges – Region V Chapter (PASUC V) during the 2026 PASUC Annual Convention and General Assembly, held on July 14, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center Manila in Pasay City.

University President De Jesus’ election to the regional presidency affirms her visionary leadership and continued efforts to advance quality higher education and strengthen collaboration among state universities and colleges (SUCs) in the Bicol Region. Likewise, her appointment highlights the trust and support of fellow SUC leaders in her commitment to academic excellence, institutional development, and regional cooperation.

This milestone brings pride to the entire SorSU community as President De Jesus takes on a significant leadership role in fostering stronger partnerships and collective initiatives among Bicol SUCs.

The Office of Student Development and Services (𝐎𝐒𝐃𝐒) participated in the 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐉. 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨, Department Head of the SorSU Laboratory High School.

The activity gathered 𝐎𝐒𝐃𝐒 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚 𝐄. 𝐌𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐬 to review and strengthen the Student Handbook, ensuring that its policies, programs, and services remain relevant, responsive, and student-centered.
