Sorsogon State University (SorSU) joins the observance of Holy Week, in solidarity with the Christian community, in commemorating the Passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The university recognizes this period as a significant religious occasion that calls for solemn reflection, spiritual renewal, and reverence.

The activity featured key learning sessions from esteemed resource speakers. Dr. Salvacion L. Villafuerte, Director of ISPSD, BU Office of Student Affairs and Services, discussed “Safe to Speak, Free to Lead: Psychological Safety and the Power of Women’s Agency,” emphasizing the importance of creating safe and empowering spaces where individuals can confidently express themselves and lead.

Meanwhile, Dr. Cesar C. San Jose, Professor V and Dean of the Graduate School, Universidad de Sta. Isabel de Naga, Inc., shared insights on “Babaylan-Inspired Leadership: Thriving Amidst Workplace Challenges for GADvocates and Educators,” highlighting the value of culturally grounded, inclusive, and resilient leadership.

Interactive components such as open forums, icebreakers, and networking activities enriched the discussions and encouraged active participation. The forum concluded with closing remarks, evaluation, and the awarding of certificates, ensuring both reflection and recognition of participants’ engagement.

Through this activity, participants gained valuable insights on fostering gender-responsive and inclusive environments in their respective institutions. Together, we continue to champion equality, empower voices, and promote a more inclusive and gender-responsive community.

Participants were able to avail of wellness services such as haircut, massage, and nail care, providing a relaxing and refreshing experience for members of the university community.

The activity offered an opportunity for employees to access wellness and support services that promote health, well-being, and empowerment for women and everyone in the workplace.

Through initiatives like Serbisyo ni Juana, the university continues to foster a supportive and inclusive environment that values the welfare and holistic well-being of its community. The activity also strengthened awareness on the importance of self-care, health services, and workplace support systems, encouraging employees to prioritize their well-being while contributing to a productive and gender-responsive academic community. 💜

The event brought together faculty, staff, and students in support of empowering women and promoting gender equality within the academic community.

Through meaningful activities and collective participation, the celebration highlighted the vital role of women in leadership, community development, and nation-building embracing the spirit of this year’s theme and honoring the strength and resilience of Filipinas. 💜
