IN PHOTOS // On August 15, 2026, Southern Leyte State University successfully conducted the National Service Training Program (NSTP) Orientation for the Academic Year 2026–2027.
​The event was spearheaded by NSTP Director Dr. Benjo O. Paca, CSP, together with CWTS Head Maria Emelee A. Bascug and ROTC Head MAJ Eleazar E. Labata, PA (Res).

PSSg Virgilio D. Sibay Jr. served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker delivering an inspiring message that encouraged students to embrace the values of discipline, leadership, and service
and consider becoming part of the ROTC Program.The orientation was also graced by distinguished representatives from the Army Recruitment Office Visayas, Personnel Management Center 8, including SSg Jay M. Venezuela (CE) PA and SSg Elizardo O. Tangapa (CE) PA. Their presence highlighted the vital role of the NSTP in molding well-rounded, civic-minded students.

The program commenced with the formal Entrance of Colors, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and an Invocation. Adding energy and excitement to the ceremony, the Advanced Officers rendered a special intermission number. The activity was conducted under the direct supervision of ROTC Head MAJ Eleazar E. Labata, PA (Res), with the full support of NSTP Director Dr. Benjo O. Paca, CSP.

We are pleased to announce the Proper Uniform and Grooming Standards for ROTC Basic Cadets. All aspiring cadets are expected to observe the prescribed attire and maintain proper grooming and discipline at all times.

📌 For Male Cadets: Maintain a proper and regulation-compliant haircut.
📌 For Female Cadets: Wear a hairnet. If you have a boy-cut hairstyle, apply hair gel and use hairpins to keep the hair neat and properly secured.
📌 Beards and mustaches are not permitted.
📌 Makeup is not permitted for female cadets during ROTC activities.
📌 Accessories are not allowed, except for a plain black watch.
📌 Additional Instruction: Bring notepad (Tickler) and ballpen.

LOOK// On 10 August 2026, Southern Leyte State University- Main Campus , hosted an important event which is the Welcoming of Freshmen and Transferee Students.

To ensure the security and smooth flow of the event, thirty-Nine (39) ROTC Advanced Officers were on duty. This dedicated team includes Twelve (12) First Class Officers composed of seven (7) Male and five (5) Female; twenty-seven (27) Second Class Officers sixteen (16) Male and eleven (11) Female.

The team was led by Corps Commander C/COL HERMIELOI P. GUMONIT 1CL, under the direct supervision of Security Head Sir Orlie O. Cag-ong, RCrim, and ROTC Head MAJ ELEAZAR E. LABATA PA (RES), with the active support of NSTP Director Dr. Benjo O. Paca, CSP.

The SLSU-ROTC Unit warmly welcomes you to your new adventure! Embrace every opportunity, stay curious, and remember that every challenge is a step toward your growth and success.
