March 7, 2025 - As the last day of Phase III arrives, I celebrate the completion of a challenging yet transformative journey. Every challenge faced, every lesson learned, and every hardship endured has molded me into sharper, more capable law enforcers, ready to take on the real-world demands of service.

Phase III was more than just a test of skill, it was a test of character, resilience, and leadership. From conducting internal security operations to responding to crisis scenarios like the bombing incident, every moment demanded quick thinking and composure under pressure. Experiencing an interview from the media taught me that as a future officer, words can be just as powerful as actions, and the ability to remain calm, professional, and factual is a skill in itself. The camp defense operation reminded me that discipline and teamwork are what keep us standing when chaos unfolds.

As I move forward, I bring with me more than just the lessons from these exercises, I carry a renewed sense of purpose. Every challenge I've encountered has shaped me, every mistake has been a lesson, and every victory has strengthened my resolve in choosing this path. The true test lies beyond the training grounds, where my decisions will have real consequences on the lives of others. The badge I will soon wear isn’t just a symbol of authority; it’s a commitment to uphold honor, integrity, and service above all else. The Maunlad City Tactical Operations Center (TOC) immediately activated emergency protocols, deploying first responders, SWAT, EOD, SOCO, and medical teams, with additional support from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP). The investigation led to the recovery of a hand gr***de and three more IEDs, highlighting the gravity of the threat. Key takeaways from the response included the importance of setting up an advanced command post for better coordination, enforcing controlled access points for accountability, and securing the perimeter to ensure both responder safety and crime scene integrity.

Later that evening, the Maunlad Component City Police Station handled an internal affairs case concerning a police officer who allegedly discharged his fi***rm while intoxicated and on duty. March 4, 2025 - As part of our continuous training under Phase III, we engaged in intensive internal security operations and camp defense planning in response to heightened threats. A crucial intelligence report alerted us to the presence of 50 heavily armed men near the PNPA Firing Range, prompting tactical maneuvers to neutralize the potential threat and secure vital intelligence. The operation was executed in two teams, utilizing strategic approaches to ensure the safety of our forces while attempting to gather subversive documents that could aid in future intelligence operations.

Later, the Maunlad Component City Police Station was subjected to an attempted harassment by 10 heavily armed individuals. Our personnel, already on high alert from earlier operations, swiftly assumed camp defense positions under the leadership of PLTCOL SONGCO, successfully repelling the attackers. Despite the intensity of the confrontation, our unified defense strategy ensured zero casualties among our ranks while securing the station and preventing further incursions.

This exercise reinforced our readiness, strategic coordination, and resilience in handling hostile threats. This event marks the official assumption of PLTCOL JED JOSHUA SONGCO as the new Chief of Police, following the termination order of PLTCOL JASPER S ANNIBAN. The ceremony, held with utmost professionalism, symbolizes the seamless transition of leadership and the continuous commitment to serving and protecting the people.

Presided over by PCOL DAN AUGUST C MASANGKAY, the activity reinforced the principles of accountability and service excellence. As the new leadership takes the helm, we reaffirm our dedication to upholding the highest standards of law enforcement and community safety. March 2, 2025 - Our operations intensified as we responded to an alleged abduction incident reported near Hyna Post, behind the female dormitory. Upon receiving the report at approximately 8:30 PM, our team immediately dispatched patrol personnel and SWAT units to verify and investigate the situation. Witness accounts indicated that the victim, onboard a Honda ADV 160 motorcycle, was forcibly taken by three unidentified males wearing dark clothing and headgear, fleeing the scene in a white Nissan Urvan. Our officers conducted an initial investigation and are actively working to uncover more details.

In addition to the investigation, we conducted extensive checkpoint operations throughout the afternoon and evening, following intelligence reports that criminals are now using construction PPE to obscure their identities. Our sources have identified two new associates of the notorious “Foreman Robber,” last seen near the bridge construction area between the mess hall and the executive lounge. We urge everyone to remain alert and report any suspicious activity as we strengthen our efforts to maintain security.

March 1, 2025 - The first day of our case-based scenario began with an opening ceremony, outlining the requirements and responsibilities of our mock police stations. This hands-on exercise allows us to apply the knowledge and skills we have gained throughout our training, as well as insights from our station immersion in various police units under PRO4A. After the ceremony, we immediately proceeded to our designated area of responsibility, where we organized our personnel and established the foundation of our operations.

Later in the evening, we conducted checkpoint operations, police visibility, patrol, and surveillance in response to a report concerning a suspect involved in a series of robberies and motorcycle thefts in the area. Based on CCTV footage, the individual employs a deceptive modus operandi, wearing construction PPE to conceal his identity while carrying out criminal activities. Intelligence reports also link him to illegal drug trade operations.

The suspect was last seen at a construction site near the Hyna area. In response, intelligence gathering has been initiated to determine his identity and background. A comprehensive intelligence packet and action report are being prepared. Additionally, heightened checkpoint operations and police visibility was conducted to deter further criminal activities and ensure public safety.

February 28, 2025 - We had the privilege of visiting the Philippine Coast Guard Headquarters in Taguig City, Manila, where we gained invaluable insights into maritime security and national defense.

The PCG plays a critical role in law enforcement, search-and-rescue, and environmental protection, ensuring the safety of our waters—especially in the West Philippine Sea. One of the highlights of our visit was the rare opportunity to tour the BRP Gabriela Silang, a multi-role vessel designed for maritime patrol, surveillance, and emergency response.

Exploring the ship's state-of-the-art radar, communication systems, and advanced navigation tools deepened our understanding of the dedication, skill, and technology required to protect our maritime domain. This visit reinforced the importance of coastal defense in combating illegal activities such as smuggling, human trafficking, and illegal fishing.

The session emphasized the importance of financial discipline, wise investments, and long-term planning. As future public servants, we were reminded that managing our finances wisely is just as crucial as serving with integrity.

This insightful discussion equips us with valuable knowledge to make sound financial choices early in our careers. Financial security is not just about earning, it's about learning, planning, and making every peso count!

February 24, 2025 - As part of our Cadet Attachment Program Field Visit, we had the privilege of visiting two significant institutions: the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).

At the OCD, particularly the Education, Training, and Doctrine Command, we were warmly welcomed by EUGENIO A. GEPTE JR. PA (Ret.), Director of the Civil Defense and Disaster Management Training Institute. Engaging lectures were delivered by Mr. Robert Padillo and Mr. Felix Palacio, highlighting the crucial role of disaster preparedness and the PNP’s responsibility in disaster risk reduction. One key insight we gained was how modern approaches have shifted from reactive to proactive measures, ensuring that disaster response is efficient and community-centered.

In the afternoon, our journey continued at Camp PMGen Tomas B. Karingal, Quezon City, home of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD). We were welcomed by PCOL MELECIO M BUSLIG JR., Acting District Director, along with the QCPD Command Group. They imparted invaluable advice to us graduating cadets, emphasizing financial management, career flexibility, and the importance of embracing our first assignment, regardless of location. We also toured their state-of-the-art Integrated Command Control Center (ICCC), where we witnessed firsthand the effectiveness of their Three-Minute Response System, demonstrating the rapid deployment and efficiency of their personnel in real-time scenarios.

This experience reinforced our commitment to public service, disaster resilience, and effective law enforcement. As we prepare to take on our roles in the PNP, we carry forward these lessons, knowing that service goes beyond enforcement, it is about protection, preparedness, and community engagement.
