The Adventist University of the Philippines extends its heartfelt sympathy to the family, colleagues, former students, and loved ones of Mam Teresita Jael, lovingly known as Mam Tess. As we mourn her passing, we also thank God for a life marked by faithful service, compassionate care, and a lasting commitment to nursing ministry and Adventist education.
From 1982 to 2022, Mam Jael served the University in various capacities as a nurse, clinician, caregiver instructor, and professor in the AUP College of Nursing. Through 27 fruitful years of service in CON, she helped prepare generations of young people for their calling in nursing, sharing not only professional knowledge but also the wisdom, compassion, and faith that shaped her own life.
A nurse through and through, Mam Jael reflected the spirit of Florence Nightingale in her commitment to caring for others and teaching future generations of nurses. She was remembered as a prayerful woman who readily shared words of wisdom, encouragement, and practical lessons with those around her. Her influence extended beyond the classroom, touching the lives of students and colleagues through her example of faithful service.
Her legacy continues in every nurse she taught, every patient she cared for, and every life she encouraged. The lessons she shared remain as living reminders of a life devoted to God and others.
