IN PHOTOS: In the culminating activity of Phase 3 of their Cadet Attachment Program, known as the case-based scenario, the PNPA Layag Diwa Class of 2024 engaged in an Incident Command System exercise. This involved the establishment of law enforcement agencies within BFP and PNP stations, as well as Jail Facilities, fostering joint forces and interdisciplinary collaboration among cadets. Through this immersive experience, cadets not only refined their individual skills but also cultivated a unified approach to emergency management. As they prepare to transition from training to operational roles, the insights gained from this simulation will serve as a foundational framework for effective and coordinated response efforts. Ultimately, this collaborative approach contributes to the creation of safer and more resilient communities. The Incident Command System stands as a pivotal component in addressing emergencies that necessitate the concerted efforts of multiple agencies working together towards resolution.

With this change, a fresh administration and leadership have taken the reins. FCINSP Ken Dannel Pintuan graciously handed over his duties and responsibilities as fire marshal to FCINSP Cathy Anne Longey, who now assumes the role of City Fire Marshal at the Gabriela City Fire Station.

This initiative aligns with the mandate and objectives of the BFP, aiming to disseminate fire safety knowledge across all establishments in the Philippines.

The seminar holds immense significance in mitigating the risks associated with fires, as it imparts crucial knowledge on the origins of fires, fire behavior, fire classification, proper operation of fire extinguishers, fire brigade organization, evacuation procedures, and building fire safety features. Throughout the information drive being conducted, informational leaflets were disseminated to various sectors of the community, including students who conducted their visit and education tour in the academy, personnel from Bonifacio CPS under the leadership of PLTCOL AYMAN M DIA, Chief of Police, and staff from Malvar City Jail headed by JCINSP TORRES. Also providing insights into the daily operations across various stations, including the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and the Philippine National Police (PNP). Subsequently, the Fire cadets, as future members of the BFP, dedicated their efforts to preparing for an upcoming Information Drive on Fire Safety Enforcement. This initiative, will be conducted for the following day, forms a crucial component of the Bureau of Fire Protection's Oplan Ligtas na Pamayanan, underscoring their commitment to ensuring community safety and awareness.

The Layag Diwa Class of 2024 fire cadets recently conducted an Exit Call with F/CINSP Merry Joy Asonza, City Fire Marshal of Sta. Rosa City Fire Station on March 01,2024. During the session, F/CINSP Asonza shared invaluable insights about our journey during the Station Immersion. She emphasized the significance of the learnings acquired at the station, highlighting their relevance for our future roles as officers. As an upperclassman, F/CINSP Asonza provided guidance, stressing the importance of maintaining an open mind and being receptive to teachings from our upperclassmen, Senior and Junior NCO's and other people. She underscored the importance of humility and remaining grounded, reminding us to always seek growth and improvement. Lastly, she encouraged us to maintain a connection with our faith, recognizing the divine guidance that shapes our paths. This enlightening discussion left us with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to our development as future fire service professionals.

IN PHOTOS: The fire cadets of the LAYAG-DIWA Class of 2024 engaged in a comprehensive lecture on Logistics on February 29, 2024 at Sta Rosa City Fire Station with FO2 Efren B Ongtanco as the lecturer. The lecturer delivered a comprehensive lecture on Logistics and Supply Management. His presentation emphasized the importance of conducting thorough inventories of items issued by both the Bureau and the LGU, ensuring that equipment is functional and identifying items for disposal or beyond economic repair. Additionally, FO2 Ongtanco provided valuable insights into the paperwork involved in logistics, including Property Acknowledgment receipts and the issuance of equipment and supplies by the Bureau and LGU. This enlightening session equipped us with a deeper understanding of the logistical processes essential for efficient operations.

IN PHOTOS: The fire cadets of LAYAG-DIWA Class of 2024 actively engaged in a training session focused on fire fighting operations at City of Sta Rosa Multi-purpose Complex on February 28, 2024 with FO2 Ryan Driz and FO2 Edward Vincent T Camarauan as the instructors. Throughout the session, cadets received instruction and learned on how to manually operatef the fire truck, including techniques for opening discharge valves and adjusting water pressure. Additionally, they learned the role of a nozzle man, mastering techniques for controlling and effectively discharging water. Furthermore, cadets were trained in manually operating the turret mounted above the firetruck.

IN PHOTOS: The LAYAG-DIWA Class of 2024 fire cadets actively engaged in a comprehensive lecture on Fire Fighting Operation and Investigation at Sta Rosa City Fire Station on February 27, 2024, led by SFO2 Dianne Nastassi A Sindac and FO2 Ryan C Driz as instructors. The lecture encompassed essential topics such as understanding the various levels of alarms in fire incidents, delineating the command structure and responsibilities of an Incident Commander during firefighting operations. Moreover, cadets were instructed on the fundamental principles of fire investigation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the composition of a Fire Investigating Team. Discussions also covered identifying different fire patterns and techniques for determining fire origin.
