The College of Computing and Information Sciences (CCIS), together with the International Affairs Unit (IAU) of the University of Antique, has formally commenced its seminar series titled โTechnology and Innovation for Sustainable Futures: The Role of Computing in Global Development.โ The first session was held online today, September 8, 2025, with students joining either at IICT Room 303 or virtually via Zoom.
The speaker for this session was Prof. Dr. Pratik Rajan Mungekar, an international educator and researcher, who shared valuable insights on how computing and innovation serve as powerful tools in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). His lecture highlighted the critical role of technology in building more sustainable and inclusive futures.
This initiative reflects CCISโs commitment to cultivating global perspectives among its students and stakeholders. The seminar series will continue with its face-to-face session on September 22, 2025, where further discussions on technology and sustainable development are expected to unfold.
