The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) is the national Scouting organization in the Philippines that aims to develop character, citizenship, and personal fitness among youth through various outdoor activities, community service, and leadership training. The BSP offers programs for different age groups, including Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Senior Scouts, and Rover Scouts. Activities often include camping, hiking, and skill-building workshops. And this year, the Quezon Council realeased a memorandum no.24 s.2024 and this id for the 67th JAMBOREE-ON-THE-AIR (JOTA)/ 28th JAMBOREE-ON-THE-INTERNET (JOTI) and Board of Review for 1st Class & Venturer Scouts Rank.
The said activity was conducted this October 19-20 at Quezon National High School, Lucena City wherein Radio Communicatioin facilities were installed this is for them to experience communication with other Scouts from other councils all over the Philippines, as well as scouts from other countries using HAM RADIO and INTERNET. This activity will also be their opportunity to advance to the next Higher Rank under the new BSP Program Scheme.
Seven (7) scouters of Bogon Elementary School from grade 5-6 were joined in this BSP activity. They were facilitated by their teachers; Bernadette D. Luna, Jessica A. Dando, Lilian M. Fajarda, Irene A. Cueto and Judy Ann A. Magtibay.
Scouters learned a variety of practical skills, from first aid to knot tying, which can be useful in everyday life. They also fosters strong friendships among members, creating a supportive network that often lasts a lifetime. Overall, being a Boy Scout in the Philippines emphasizes personal growth, teamwork, and service to others, all while having fun and exploring the great outdoors especially on using JOTA & JOTI.
