International Women’s Day reminds us that celebrating women is not enough. We must also confront the moments that reveal how far we still have to go.

In recent days, the country was once again reminded of this reality after the inappropriate remarks directed at Anne Curtis sparked national conversation. Her response was clear and powerful: women deserve dignity, respect, and safety in every space — not just in private life, but also in public discourse and leadership.

Because when a woman is reduced to a joke or an object of commentary, it is never just about one person. It reflects a culture that still struggles to see women as equal voices in society.

At eXpressed Communications Consultancy, this is exactly why we do the work that we do. We believe in the power and capability of women to lead, to speak, and to shape conversations. Through our public speaking trainings, communication workshops, and leadership development sessions, we aim to equip more women with the confidence, voice, and platform to stand up, speak clearly, and be heard.

Communication shapes culture. The words we choose, and the voices we empower, can either reinforce inequality or build a society grounded in dignity and respect.

This Women’s Month, let us go beyond celebration. Let us redefine how we portray women.

A meaningful women's day from all the empowered women of eXpressed ComCon!

In most pageants, candidates prepare on their own. But in Miss Kalaneg 2026, they prepared together under one structured, intensive training.

For five nights, eXpressed Communications Consultancy worked closely with all 11 candidates in a uniform Personality Development and Public Speaking Workshop.

We began by unfolding the pageant theme: New Era of Impact: Recalibrated for Purpose, Rebranded for Leadership, Reinvigorated for Change. The candidates examined what those words demand on stage and in community leadership. They wrote their own Open Speech Competition pieces then underwent technical training in delivery emphasizing articulation, voice dynamics, posture, and stage presence. The succeeding days were devoted to rigorous mock Q&A sessions anchored on real barangay concerns. Under pressure, they learned to think and respond with composure.

This level of collective, standardized preparation is what makes this experience unique in pageantry. It ensures that every candidate steps on stage equally trained, transformed, and empowered.

We extend our gratitude to the organizers for entrusting eXpressed Communications Consultancy with this milestone initiative. Our gratitude to the barangay captain, Hon. Juanito Awid; and pageant director, Sir Melvin Awid.
