It is conducted through an online platform, making it accessible for participants to join and compete remotely.

𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 | Two PUP Sto Tomas Teams Compete in ASEAN AI Hackathon 2026

Students from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines are among the contenders in the ASEAN AI Hackathon 2026, a competition that convenes top student innovators in artificial intelligence from across Southeast Asia.

Among the many participating teams from ASEAN universities, 20 teams come from the PUP System, underscoring the institution’s strong presence in the field of emerging technologies. Of these, two teams hail from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Sto Tomas campus.

One of the teams, Team Devunix, is composed of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology students from the Computer Society. The team is under the mentorship of Dr. Melani Castillo.

The second team, Team ACubeMSquare, is made up of Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering students from the Organization of Electronic Engineering Students (OECES PUP STC).

The ASEAN AI Hackathon runs from March to July 2026, providing a four-month platform for participating teams to develop innovative, AI-driven solutions addressing real-world challenges.
