Regional Progress Monitoring Strengthens SGC Operations

The Regional Progress Monitoring and Technical Assistance for the School Governance Council (SGC) was conducted at Rosario National High School on September 9, 2026, led by Dr. Marivic A. Somejo, Regional SGC Focal Person/ EPS of the Field Technical Assistance Division (FTAD) and Dr. Shirlyn R. Macaspac, EPS for School Management Monitoring and Evaluation (SMME).

The activity served as an avenue for schools to review SGC performance, identify operational gaps, and strengthen collaboration, shared responsibility, and transparency in school governance.

“Matuto ng higit pa, lumago ng mabuti, maging mas mahusay na lingkod-bayan.”

With these powerful words from Ma’am Marjorie P. Mendoza, Filipino Coordinator, Rosario National High School officially opened its In-Service Training (INSET) for Teachers 2026. A day dedicated to learning, reflection, professional growth, and better service to our learners.

🎯 A CALL TO GROW

In his message, Sir Constantino T. Agpalo emphasized to the teachers-“Maging modelo, tumingin sa mabuting aspeto, at yakapin ang training na ito para sa professional growth."

Meanwhile, Sir Robert R. Rustia, EPS-AP/Guardian Supervisor, highlighted that teachers remain the drivers of their learners’ journey—and drivers need to keep upgrading themselves through continuous learning and training.

Ma’am Harlene S. Peralta, LAC Co-Focal Person, in her Statement of urpose said that teachers are called to innovate, transform, and inspire learners while strengthening and empowering knowledge.

SESSION 1 | TEACHER ACCOUNTABILITY

The morning session was graced by Atty. Alecsander Paolo T. Cabanos, who comprehensively discussed Teacher Accountability: Upholding Professionalism, Integrity & Excellence. A key takeaway was the 5-Point Teacher Accountability Test:

🔹 FAIR
🔹 DOCUMENTED
🔹 DEFENSIBLE

His closing reminder resonated with everyone: “Your profession is built on trust, so parents entrust you their children. That trust is the real foundation of accountability. Teach well, act lawfully.”

A Q&A session followed, allowing teachers to raise concerns, clarify questions, and gain a deeper understanding of their professional responsibilities.

SESSION 2 | CRAFTING SELF-LEARNING KITS

The afternoon learning session shifted from accountability to resource development as Sir Mario James Dela Cruz, Master Teacher II of Santiago City National High School, shared his expertise on Crafting of Self-Learning Kits (SLK).

Teachers explored the purpose and advantages of SLKs, their essential parts, and the technicalities and considerations in crafting effective learning materials that respond to learners’ needs.

Day 1 reminded us that great teachers never stop learning. We continue to grow, innovate, and improve—not simply for ourselves, but for every learner who depends on us.

𝐑𝐨𝐍𝐇𝐒 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐏𝐓𝐀 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

Rosario National High School conducted its Parent Conference and 1st Term Card Distribution at the school amphitheater, bringing parents and school personnel together to discuss important concerns affecting learners, today.

School Head Sir Constantino T. Agpalo II warmly welcomed the parents and emphasized the importance of school-home partnership in supporting the learners.

Sir Cristobal A. Felipe, Learner Formation Officer, discussed DepEd Order No. 6, s. 2026, particularly on bullying and possible offenses and corresponding consequences.

Meanwhile, Ma’am Consolacion L. Abadia, Guidance Counselor Designate, presented the various services of the school’s CARE Center, which provides support and assistance to learners.

Ma’am Kimberly Alyssa D. Gollayan, SSLG Adviser, also discussed the proper wearing of the school uniform and ID as part of promoting discipline and strengthening school security.

For the school’s continuing improvement efforts, Sir Harry L. Sacatani, SPTA Vice President, presented the financial statement of Project TARANGKAHAN 1.0, including its before-and-after results and the current cash on hand. The presentation also introduced the next phase of the project, Project TARANGKAHAN 2.0 AT KALASAG PARA SA BATANG ROSARIAN.

The assembly concluded with the 1st Term Card Distribution, held in the respective classrooms, where parents received their children’s report cards and discussed their academic progress with the teachers.

The activity highlighted the school and parents’ shared commitment to ensuring a safe, supportive, and progressive learning environment for every Batang Rosarian.

Behind these achievements is a team of dedicated coaches who shared their time, expertise, patience, and passion with our young journalists. Special appreciation goes to Mesdames Fredelyn Joy B. Apolonio, Kimberly Claire D. Maguad, Sheryanne E. Intertas, Reyela G. Mataga, and Aiza Claire Parel, whose invaluable contributions helped prepare and strengthen the learners throughout the DSPC.

Rosario National High School participated in the conduct of Nationwide Simultaneous School Safety Drill for Active Attack Incidents through a Lockdown Drill, strengthening the preparedness of learners and school personnel against potential armed attacks and other emergency threats, today.

With the assistance of PNP Station 3 personnel PEMS Christian A. Lardizabal and PSSg Joel A. Busalpa, the entire school community participated in a mock attack scenario, lockdown procedures, and evacuation protocols.

The activity trained everyone to respond quickly, calmly, and appropriately when confronted with a potential threat.

The drill was coordinated by SDRRM Coordinator Sir Randy B. Tolentino and School Head Sir Constantino T. Agpalo II, with Ma’am Zarlyn I. Tamayo serving as Officer-in-Charge.

Through this simulation, Rosarians strengthened their emergency response skills and reinforced the importance of preparedness, vigilance, and collective action in keeping the school community safe.
