Our Kindergarten Little Tots had a fun, meaningful afternoon exploring the lesson on Living and Non-Living Things through a hands-on Seed-Planting Activity! 🪴
Through planting their own seeds, our young learners discovered that plants are living things because they grow, need water and sunlight, and change over time. 🌱☀️💧
This activity also helped develop their fine motor skills, observation, patience, responsibility, curiosity, and appreciation for nature. Most importantly, it made learning more engaging by allowing children to explore, experience, and learn through doing! 💚
And in the sweetest little moment, our kids asked their teacher to pray for their plants to grow. 🙏🌱 Their simple prayer showed not only their excitement and care for their little plants, but also how they connect learning with their faith. 💕

Learning Through Exploration! 🚗🔬

Term 2’s theme for our Nursery 2 learners is “My Neighbourhood,” and we are bringing their Science lesson to life through hands-on exploration!

The children investigated which car could travel the fastest and the farthest by using different types and heights of ramps. Through this simple yet engaging experiment, they practiced making observations, forming hypotheses, comparing results, and thinking critically.

More than just playing with cars, the children are learning to ask questions, make predictions, test their ideas, and discover what happens through their own exploration. 💡❤️

At Little Tots House, we believe that meaningful learning happens when children are given opportunities to explore, experiment, and learn through experience.

One thing I truly love about designing our weekly plan and curriculum at Little Tots House is being able to build learning experiences around the children’s interests and curiosity.

For this term, our Kindergarten learners are exploring countries around the world. To reinforce this lesson, we are bringing Japan closer to them through a hands-on Maki and Tempura Making Activity with Chef Jojie, who previously worked at one of the well-known restaurants in SM Megamall.

More than simply learning about Japan from books or pictures, this experience allows our children to see, touch, create, and taste—making their learning more authentic and meaningful.

When children experience a lesson firsthand, learning comes to life. ❤️🇯🇵🍣

This week, our Afternoon class (2nd session) explored the kitchen and learned about the different things we can find inside it. They practiced pointing to and identifying familiar items such as the spoon, fork, plate, cup, bowl, and fridge. 🍴🥣

They also experienced washing their hands at the sink and enjoyed exploring the kitchen. Learning about our home through fun and meaningful experiences! 🌟💛
