Today, we honor the life, courage, and sacrifice of ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ถ๐ด๐ป๐ผ โ๐ก๐ถ๐ป๐ผ๐โ ๐๐พ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ผ ๐๐ฟ., whose love for the Filipino people and unwavering stand for democracy became an important part of our nationโs history.
On August 21, 1983, Ninoy Aquino was assassinated upon his return to the Philippines. His death became a turning point in Philippine history, intensifying the call for freedom, democracy, and change and inspiring Filipinos to stand together for their country.
๐ช๐ต๐ผ ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ก๐ถ๐ป๐ผ๐ ๐๐พ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ผ?
Ninoy was a courageous Filipino leader and ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐ who fearlessly stood against the dictatorship of ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ ๐ฆ๐ฟ. He endured years of imprisonment and later lived in exile, yet chose to return to the Philippines because of his deep love for his country and its people.
His courage and sacrifice continue to be remembered through his powerful words:
