LOOK | The PUP Santa Rosa Campus Student Council (PUP-SRC SC) attended the consultation meeting on CHED Memorandum 117, s. 2026, more commonly known as the policy on 100% online classes for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
The consultation meeting critically examined the provisions of the said memorandum by grounding the discussion in the lived realities of every Iskolar ng Bayan across the system, identifying both its strengths and existing gaps.
During the meeting, an open forum was conducted to surface the current conditions faced by studentsโparticularly the persistent lack of genuine support and readiness for education amid the rising heat index and the ongoing transportation crisis brought about by continuous oil price hikes.
Insights and collective positions gathered from the consultation will be consolidated and forwarded to the concerned offices and relevant stakeholders, as part of a broader effort to push for policies that are genuinely responsive, inclusive, and grounded in the material conditions of every Iskolar ng Bayan.

Unity Statement of PUP System Student Councils on the Ongoing Repression Against the Youth
The Black Saturday marks two months since the DOJ declared as โdeemed submitted for resolutionโ the fabricated sedition cases by the PNP-CIDG against PUP student leaders Tiffany Brillante, Jacob Baluyot, and other youth activists over the Sept. 21 anti-corruption rally. A decision should have come within 60 days of their Feb. 4 hearing, but the Marcos Jr. regime remains silentโleaving their future uncertain.
While Filipinos suffer from rising oil and goods prices, low wages, joblessness, and debt, the regime ignores the roots of the crisis. Instead, it silences dissentโespecially among the youth. The cases against Tiffany and Jacob aim to intimidate young people who speak truth to power. Fabricated cases move fast, even with no evidence: the recent arrest of Charlize โCeekaโ Garzon shows another young voice targeted. Meanwhile, corrupt officials walk free. The regime wants to erase resistance, but it cannot kill the youthโs spirit.
We oppose fabricated cases against the youth. Criticism is not a crime. Truth is not sedition. For every subpoena, arrest, and false caseโwe resist. The red-tagging and repression are part of a fascist strategy to crush dissent. But each arrest awakens more youth; each fake case strengthens our fight.
We call on the entire PUP communityโstudents, teachers, staff, officialsโto stand with Tiffany and Jacob. Neutrality in a crisis is complicity. PUP cannot stay silent while its Iskolars ng Bayan are targeted.
DROP ALL TRUMPED-UP CHARGES AGAINST THE YOUTH!
HANDS OFF TIFFANY BRILLANTE!
HANDS OFF JACOB BALUYOT!
RELEASE CHARLIZE โCEEKAโ GARZON!
