A MESSAGE TO MY STUDENTS AND TO EVERY STUDENT
I just want to share something about my experience today.
Kanina, waray ko na gud kakaya nga pigilan an akon kauriton. Pirmi ko ginriremind tak students nga diri magtinawa ha butnga han klase kay nakakaguba ito han concentration ngan, honestly, nakakabastos liwat ha teacher.
Kasi diri kami maaram kun ano an iyo gintitinawaan. Kami ba? An amon gintututdo? An amon hitsura? May muta ba kami? May nganga? Or may iba pa nga butang nga diri namon nahuhunahuna?
Earlier, during my class, some of my students nagtitinawa ha diri ak maaram nga rason kun anu an ira gintitinawaan. And honestly, NABASTOS gud ako.
Guys, please remember that teachers have feelings too. WE ALSO HAVE BAD DAYS 😭
Diri ko karuyag mag-inisog because it stresses me out too. Diri ngani ako nagtitinawa bisan simple subtraction of integers la ngan diri kamo maaram han answer. Instead, I try to understand, explain again, and help you learn.
Sometimes, the simplest thing you can do to make your teachers feel valued is simply to listen.
Siring pa man, kun diri kami niyo kaya respetuhon as your teacher, please respect us as a person.
You don’t have to agree with everything we say. You don’t have to like us all the time. But we hope you can still choose to be respectful.
Please remember that character is more important than intellectual capacity. Kay ano man an gamit han pagka-bright kun waray respeto, disiplina, ngan maupay nga character?
Being intelligent can help you succeed in school, but having good character will help you become a better person.
I am not saying this because I hate you. I am saying this because I care about you and I want you to become better, not only as students, but as people.
Respect costs nothing, but it means a lot.
To my students, I hope we can do better. 🤍
