It might sound impossible, but under very specific conditions, water can exist as a solid, liquid, and gas all at once. This unusual state is called the triple point.

At the triple point, the temperature and pressure are exactly right for ice, liquid water, and water v***r to coexist. For water, this occurs at about 0.01ยฐC and 611 pascals of pressure.

๐–๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐ฆ๐š๐ค๐ž๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ฌ ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ž๐œ๐ข๐š๐ฅ?

Normally, changing the temperature or pressure causes water to change from one state to another. But at the triple point, all three states can exist together in equilibrium. Scientists use this unique property when studying and measuring temperature and pressure.

A STAR IS SPEEDING AROUND A BLACK HOLE AT AN INCREDIBLE SPEED!

Astronomers have discovered a record-breaking star orbiting the supermassive black hole at the center of our Milky Way galaxy. This star is moving incredibly fast and follows an extremely tight orbit around the black hole! ๐Ÿ•ณ๏ธ

The black hole at the center of our galaxy is called Sagittarius A*. It has an enormous gravitational pull that keeps nearby stars moving around it. The newly observed star gives scientists an amazing opportunity to study what happens in one of the most extreme environments in our galaxy!

๐Ÿš€What makes this discovery special?
This star has one of the tightest known orbits around the Milky Way's central black hole, meaning it travels remarkably close to Sagittarius A*. Its incredible speed shows just how powerful gravity can become near a supermassive black hole!

๐…๐ฎ๐ง ๐…๐š๐œ๐ญ:
Black holes don't simply "suck in" everything around them. Objects can actually orbit a black hole, just like planets orbit stars, as long as their motion and distance allow them to remain in orbit!

August 8โ€“14 | Exploring Space, Inspiring Innovation

๐ŸŒ  WHAT IS PHILIPPINE SPACE WEEK?

Philippine Space Week is an annual celebration that promotes awareness and appreciation of space science, technology, and exploration in the Philippines.

It was declared through Proclamation No. 302 by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., setting August 8โ€“14 every year as Philippine Space Week.

This celebration encourages Filipinosโ€”especially students and young peopleโ€”to learn more about space and its role in our future.

๐Ÿ›ฐ๏ธ WHY DO WE CELEBRATE IT?

Philippine Space Week aims to:

๐Ÿ”ญ Promote space awareness โ€“ Encourage interest in space science and technology.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ”ฌ Recognize Filipino experts โ€“ Honor those contributing to the countryโ€™s space efforts.

๐Ÿš€ Inspire the youth โ€“ Encourage students to pursue STEM and space-related careers.

๐ŸŒ Highlight its importance โ€“ Show how space technology supports national development.

๐ŸŒŽ HOW DOES SPACE TECHNOLOGY HELP THE PHILIPPINES?

Space technology helps us in many ways here on Earth:

๐Ÿ“ก Communication โ€“ Improves connectivity
๐ŸŒช๏ธ Disaster monitoring โ€“ Tracks storms and hazards
๐ŸŒพ Agriculture โ€“ Supports farming and crop monitoring
๐ŸŒŠ Environment โ€“ Observes natural resources

๐Ÿ”ฌ SCIENCE TRIVIA OF THE DAY ๐Ÿ”ฌ

๐Ÿคฏ Did you know? Your tongue is a strong and flexible muscle that helps you taste, speak, chew, and swallow! ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ

๐Ÿ‘… Your tongue has thousands of taste buds that help you detect different tastes like sweet, salty, sour, bitter ๐Ÿ˜‹

โœจ Even more amazing, your tongue is constantly moving when you talk and eat. It works together with your teeth, lips, and other parts of your mouth to help you enjoy food and communicate! ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ๐Ÿ”

Who knew your tongue was doing so much work every day? ๐Ÿ‘…๐Ÿฆธโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿ”ฌ SCIENCE CLUB MONTHLY MEETING! ๐Ÿงช

โ€œComing together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.โ€ - Henry Ford

Another productive and successful day for our Science Club! Last, August 7, 2026, we held our monthly Science Club meeting through Google Meet! Our officers came together to discuss important plans, activities, and preparations for the upcoming month ahead.

Big thanks to our Science Club Adviser, Sir Sherwyn S. Jaldo, for leading this monthly meeting and for continuously guiding and supporting us. We also want to appreciate all the officers who took the time to attend despite their busy schedules.

During the meeting, we discussed the attendance and photo documentation for our activities, the layout and design of our bulletin board, and our upcoming activities for August.

Letโ€™s continue working together, sharing ideas, and making every Science Club activity meaningful and fun.
Keep exploring, keep learning, and keep making a difference, Science Club! ๐Ÿงช๐Ÿ”ฌ
