🌠 WHAT IS PHILIPPINE SPACE WEEK?

Philippine Space Week is an annual celebration that promotes awareness and appreciation of space science, technology, and exploration in the Philippines.

It was declared through Proclamation No. 302 by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., setting August 8–14 every year as Philippine Space Week.

This celebration encourages Filipinos—especially students and young people—to learn more about space and its role in our future.

🛰️ WHY DO WE CELEBRATE IT?

Philippine Space Week aims to:

🔭 Promote space awareness – Encourage interest in space science and technology.

👩‍🔬 Recognize Filipino experts – Honor those contributing to the country’s space efforts.

🚀 Inspire the youth – Encourage students to pursue STEM and space-related careers.

🌏 Highlight its importance – Show how space technology supports national development.

Another productive and successful day for our Science Club! Last, August 7, 2026, we held our monthly Science Club meeting through Google Meet! Our officers came together to discuss important plans, activities, and preparations for the upcoming month ahead.

Big thanks to our Science Club Adviser, Sir Sherwyn S. Jaldo, for leading this monthly meeting and for continuously guiding and supporting us. We also want to appreciate all the officers who took the time to attend despite their busy schedules.

During the meeting, we discussed the attendance and photo documentation for our activities, the layout and design of our bulletin board, and our upcoming activities for August.

Let’s continue working together, sharing ideas, and making every Science Club activity meaningful and fun.

On August 8, 2026, the Science Club successfully conducted a Barangay Clean-Up Drive together with the Pulong Buhangin Barangay officials and utilities as part of our commitment to promoting cleanliness and environmental responsibility within our community. ✨

Thank you for the cooperation and dedication of our club members, advisers, and the barangay, the designated areas, specifically in Balasing Pulong Buhangin Sta. Maria, Bulacan were cleaned and made more pleasant for everyone. 💚

This activity reminded us that maintaining a clean environment is important and that even simple acts of service can create a positive impact in our community. May this activity inspire everyone to do their part in keeping our surroundings clean, safe, and beautiful. 🌼🌿

‎💭 • We often use the sayings "Life flashed before my eyes", or "You'd be in my 7-minute memory replay after death" in conversation—but did you know this was scientifically proven?
‎
‎In 2022, Dr. Raul Vicente of the University of Tartu, Estonia used 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆 —a medical device that records brain activity—on an 87-year-old patient who developed epilepsy to detect seizures and heal them. However, a twist of fate end with the patient suffering from a heart attack mid-recording and passed away.

‎𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁? Before and after the patient's heart completely stopped, the scientist recorded a change in brain waves—patterns of rhythmic brain activity normally present in living humans. The different types of waves were involved in high-cognitive functions, such as dreaming, memory retrieval, information processing, and more. These are also associated with said memory flashbacks.

‎Although this has been the only report of such case, it was a big step for humanity in discovering what the body goes through after death.
