Our Story
Cabittaogan National High School was founded on December 18, 1968 through the initiative of then the town mayor Mayor Porfirio G. Rapanut and Procopio Asuncion. Initially known as Cabittaogan Barangay High School, it was managed by no more than 6 teachers and an officer in charge. In 1988, through Republic Act 6655 or known as the "Free Public Secondary Education Act of 1988, the barangay high school became a national high school. It’s first principal was Mr. Casimiro Rabo Jr and 10 classroom teachers. There were initially 9 sections because of an overwhelming number of registrants coming from the community and nearby barangays of Vigan until the administration resolved to make two sections for each grade level. To date, the school principal is Mr. Ricardo Ricod, a resident of San Ildefonso, Ilocos Sur managing both the Junior High School and the Senior High School programs.
