Unite. Equip. Lead. Scout. Serve.

Four days of learning, leadership, teamwork, and service unfolded as Sanchez Mira Central Elementary School (SMCES) proudly hosted the Cluster-Based Patrol Leaders Training Course in Boy Scouting, held on August 20–23, 2026.

Anchored on the theme “Unite, Equip, Lead: Elevating Scouting Service Across Districts,” the training brought together young scouts and scouting leaders from schools across the Sanchez Mira District and Pamplona District, strengthening camaraderie and building essential skills for responsible and effective patrol leadership.

SMCES was honored to have five of its pupils actively participate in this meaningful four-day training, embracing every opportunity to learn, lead, and serve. Adding pride to the school’s participation, Mr. Andres U. Sacayanan served as one of the teacher-trainers, sharing his knowledge and expertise in shaping young scouts into capable and committed leaders.

One Celebration, Three Beautiful Milestones

Every school has its stories, but only a few moments become cherished milestones that generations of educators will fondly remember. Such was the atmosphere at Ponsing's Place on July 24, 2026 as the Sanchez Mira Central Elementary School (SMCES) family gathered for a heartfelt 3-in-1 Celebration—an occasion that honored years of faithful service, recognized exemplary leadership, and welcomed fresh faces ready to continue the school's legacy.

The event brought together the District Supervisor, Ma’am Venus D. de Guzman, PhD, the school principal, Sir Joerfrey D. Cacatian, PhD, teaching and non-teaching personnel, retirees, family members, friends, and distinguished guests in a celebration woven with gratitude, laughter, and hope.

As the program unfolded, emotions filled the room while the retirees were recognized for dedicating decades of their lives to shaping young minds. Their stories reflected countless mornings spent preparing lessons, afternoons guiding struggling learners, and years devoted to nurturing not only academic excellence but also the character of every child who entered their classrooms. Their retirement marked the close of meaningful careers, yet their influence will continue to resonate in the halls of SMCES and in the lives of the learners they inspired.

Adding another memorable chapter to the celebration was the tribute to the outgoing Master Teacher, Mr. Erwin Raralio, whose unwavering commitment to instructional excellence and teacher development has become one of the school's strongest pillars. More than an educational leader, Sir Erwin became a trusted mentor, dependable colleague, and inspiring friend whose legacy will remain deeply embedded in the culture of SMCES.

While farewells brought tears, new beginnings brought smiles as three newly appointed teachers were formally welcomed into the SMCES family. Mrs. Esmeralda Descalzo, Mrs. Gladys Pangramuyen and Ms. Lordelyn Sacbibit received warm greetings and words of encouragement from school officials and colleagues, symbolizing the school's commitment to fostering a nurturing and collaborative learning community. Their arrival signaled renewed energy and fresh opportunities to continue the school's mission of delivering quality education to every learner.

The celebration served as a beautiful reminder that schools are built not only through classrooms and lessons but also through the people who dedicate their lives to teaching, mentoring, and inspiring others. It was a gathering where every applause expressed appreciation, every smile reflected friendship, and every embrace honored relationship built through years of shared service.

As the program concluded with fellowship, shared meals, and joyful conversations, one message echoed throughout the celebration: while some educators begin a well-deserved new chapter and others embark on a new journey, they all remain part of one family.

Indeed, the 3-in-1 Celebration was more than an event—it was a tribute to enduring legacies, meaningful transitions, and the promise that the spirit of service at Sanchez Mira Central Elementary School will continue to thrive through every generation of educators.

Empowering Teachers, Ensuring Quality Assessment!

SMCES successfully conducted a Collaborative Expertise Session (CES) focused on the Revised Guidelines on Classroom Assessment, Grading System, and Awards and Recognition anchored on DepEd Order No. 15, s. 2026. The session provided teachers with a deeper understanding of the new classroom assessment policies and grading procedures to ensure fair, valid, and learner-centered assessment practices.

A significant part of the session was the hands-on orientation and walkthrough on the Electronic Class Record (ECR) for both Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2), equipping teachers with the knowledge and skills needed to accurately record, compute, and manage learners' performance in accordance with the revised guidelines.

Through collaborative discussions, sharing of best practices, and technical guidance, our educators strengthened their readiness to implement the new grading system with confidence, consistency, and fidelity. This initiative reflects our unwavering commitment to continuous professional development and to providing every learner with quality education grounded on effective and equitable assessment.

Today, the teaching force of SMCES successfully conducted a Collaborative Expertise Session (CES) on the Unpacking of Learning Competencies for the Tri-Term Calendar.

The session provided an opportunity for teachers to deepen their understanding of the importance of unpacking learning competencies, analyze the essential knowledge and skills embedded in the curriculum, and formulate clear and measurable learning objectives aligned with Bloom's Taxonomy. Through meaningful discussions and collaboration, participants worked together to ensure that learning targets are clearly defined and effectively translated into classroom instruction.

This initiative reflects SMCES's commitment to fostering professional growth among educators and ensuring quality, standards-based instruction for every learner under the Tri-Term Curriculum.
