Ninoy Aquino Day happens every August 21 to celebrate a brave leader who gave hope, courage, and pride to the Philippines. It honors the life and work of former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., who always believed in the power and goodness of the Filipino people. This special day remembers his inspiring vision for a peaceful, free, and united nation.

Ninoy was a hero who gave hope to Filipinos during a difficult time in history. He worked hard as a reporter, mayor, governor, and senator. His most famous choice was coming back home to the Philippines even though he knew he was in danger, just to help bring back human rights and freedom for everyone.

His story brought Filipinos together and created a strong sense of pride across the country. This eventually led to the peaceful 1986 People Power Revolution at EDSA, where millions of people joined hands to bring back a fair government. His famous words, "The Filipino is worth dying for," still remind everyone to care for their country.

Today, remembering Ninoy Aquino is not just about looking at history, but also about protecting our freedom today. It reminds us that our rights and democracy are important and need to be looked after. Ninoy Aquino Day encourages every Filipino to protect their rights, respect good values, and serve the country with honesty.

For 63 years, the Sanchez Mira School of Arts and Trades has stood as more than a school—it has been a home where dreams were born, skills were honed, and future leaders were shaped.

Through the years, SMSAT has been our place of learning, our training ground for champions, and the keeper of a legacy built on hard work, excellence, and service.

But the true story of SMSAT is not found only in its classrooms, workshops, and buildings. Its legacy lives in the stories of triumph and struggle, in the sacrifices of teachers, in the determination of students, and in the achievements of alumni who carried the name of their alma mater with pride.

From humble beginnings, we have come this far—and the journey continues. As we look back with gratitude, let us also look forward with hope, courage, and a renewed commitment to reach even greater heights.

Because with every passing year, SMSAT does not simply grow older—it grows wiser, stronger, and more inspiring.
