Sa darating na ika-164 birth anniversary ni Dr. Jose Rizal, ilulunsad ng National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), katuwang ang SM Cares, Book Nook, at SM The Podium, ang children’s book na 'Ang Batang Babaeng Nagtitinda ng Posporo’ sa ika-19 ng Hunyo sa Book Nook, 5th Floor, The Podium sa Mandaluyong City, ng 1:30 ng hapon.

Unang isinalin ni Rizal sa Tagalog ang Ang Batang Babaeng Nagtitinda ng Posporo bilang Ang Batang Babaing Mai Dalang Sakafuego mula sa ‘The Little Match Girl’ ni Danish author Hans Christen Andersen. Isinalin niya rin ang ibang Andersen fairytales mula sa German tulad ng ‘The Fir Tree’ (Ang Punong Pino), ‘Thumbelina’ (Ang Gahinlalaki), ‘The Ugly Duckling’ (Ang Pangit na Sisiw ng Pato), at ‘The Angel’ (Ang Sugo). Natapos ni Rizal ang pagsasalin ng mga ito noong 1886 at ipinadala sa Pilipinas bilang regalo sa kanyang mga pamangkin.

Sa Hulyo 1889 isyu ng Trubner’s Oriental Record sa England, inilathala din ni Rizal ang The Monkey and the Turtle, na tinaguriang unang children’s folktale sa Pilipinas. Ang kwento ng Matsing at Pagong ay pinagpasa-pasahan na sa bawat henerasyon at hindi na kilala ang author nito. Simbolo ito na hindi lang isang intelektwal at repormista si Rizal kundi isang storyteller din para sa kabataan.

Ang NHCP ay ang pangunahing ahensya ng gobyerno na may mandato na isulong ang kasaysayan ng Pilipinas sa pamamagitan ng kaniyang mga museo, research, at publications, at pangalagaan ang historical heritage sa pamamagitan ng conservation at pagmarka ng mga makasaysayang lugar at istruktura.
