KAPWA sa UPLB

𝙆𝘼𝘽𝘼𝙏𝘼𝘼𝙉, 𝙆𝘼𝙎𝘼𝙈𝘼 𝙎𝘼 𝙋𝘼𝙂𝙃𝙐𝘽𝙊𝙂 𝙉𝙂 𝙆𝘼𝙎𝘼𝙇𝙐𝙆𝙐𝙔𝘼𝙉! 🌏✨

Ngayong 𝐢𝐤𝐚-𝟏𝟐 𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐠𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐨, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, buong puso tayong nakikiisa sa paggunita ng 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲. Taon-taon itong ginugunita upang bigyang-pansin ang mga usaping kinakaharap ng kabataan at kilalanin sila bilang katuwang sa paghubog ng lipunan.

Sa Pilipinas, umabot sa 𝟑𝟏.𝟒𝟎 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲𝐨𝐧 ang mga Pilipinong edad 15 hanggang 30, katumbas ng 𝟐𝟖.𝟗 𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐲𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨 ng household population ng bansa (Philippine Statistics Authority, 2022). Malawak ang kayang i-ambag ng sektor na ito: nag-uwi si 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐬 𝐘𝐮𝐥𝐨 ng dalawang gintong medalya sa Paris 2024; naging kauna-unahang Filipina si 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱 𝐄𝐚𝐥𝐚 na nagkampeon sa junior Grand Slam singles; at sa pamamagitan ng The Cacao Project, nakapagsanay si 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐨 ng mahigit 200 magsasaka at nakapagtanim ng higit 70,000 puno (International Gymnastics Federation, 2024; US Open, 2022; United Nations Environment Programme, 2019).

Ipinakikita ng mga halimbawang ito na ang kabataan ay hindi lamang tagatanggap ng mga programa. Sila ay atleta, mananaliksik, manunulat, volunteers, innovators, organizers, at katuwang sa pagbuo ng mga desisyong nakaaapekto sa komunidad.

Gayunpaman, kailangan pa ring palawakin at dagdagan ang mga oportunidad at pagkakataon ng mga kabataan pagdating sa pagsali at pakikilahok sa iba’t-ibang espasyo, sektor at isyung panlipunan. Sa 2025 U-Report poll na nilahukan ng mahigit 4,000 kabataang Pilipino, 35 porsiyento lamang ang nagsabing sila ay iniimbitahan at aktibong nakikilahok sa mga gawain ng komunidad. Kabilang sa mga hadlang ang pag-aatubiling magsalita at pakiramdam na hindi sila pinakikinggan o kabilang (UNICEF Philippines, 2026).

Kaisa ang Kapatirang Pitong Lawa sa UP Los Baños sa pagkilala sa lakas, talino, pagkamalikhain, at paninindigan ng kabataang Pilipino. Naninindigan kami para sa isang lipunang nakikinig sa kabataan, kumikilala sa kanilang ambag ngayon, at nagbibigay sa kanila ng ligtas at makabuluhang pagkakataong makilahok.

Sa bawat kabataang nangangarap, lumilikha, naglilingkod, at kumikilos para sa kapwa, mahalaga ang inyong tinig at gawa. Patuloy nating itaguyod ang isang Pilipinas kung saan may pagkakataon kayong matuto, makilahok, mamuno, at mag-ambag.
