TWO DAYS BEFORE THE EXAMS!! Have you began studying for exams?? we hope you did because it's stressing to do all of it over the weekend. But to help YOU, You&Me presents SIX TIPS that will help you to study better and efficiently for the upcoming examination. You can also use this tips for future examinations that you will take. So, sit back and we will take a bit of your time for YOU to read our tips that will help you in reviewing for your exam!
01. Start Studying at School
"Good study techniques begin in the classroom as you take notes"
Taking notes in school while the discussion is ongoing is a huge help for you to take the information the teacher is telling you. You can simply take note a key word and a specific most important word in your lectures, so you can still catch up to what the teacher is saying. You can also make graphic organizers, tables, or etc that will make it easier to understand. Still, that depends on what works the best for you.
02. Plan Your Study Time
"Think about how much time you want to devote to each subjects and topics"
Instead of reviewing a certain topic at one go, try breaking it down and go for other subjects and topics as you finish one certain lesson. Also, don't forget to take breaks especially if you plan to study for a long time. Rest is also as important as studying.
03. Study Based on the Type of Test You're Taking
"Multiple Choice Questions typically focus on facts and details, while Essay Questions require more understanding of the topic."
This can be done when the teacher told you what type of test are you taking. In memorizing, try making flashcards. For more understanding, try researching more about the topic and come up with hypothetical questions that maybe included in your tests.
04. Keep Procrastination to a Minimum
"You need time to digest information, but maybe you end up procrastinating simply because you don’t know how to get started."
In order to digest information accurately, it is more helpful if you already started weeks or days before you quiz or exams. However, since majority of us works better under pressure, we still have to stay organized. But we recommend you to start as early as possible and keep procrastination at minimum.
05. Join a Study Group (or Start Your Own)
"You can double-check your notes, come up with ways to remember the , and test one another."
If you're in a study group, you can have the chance to double check if your notes are right, and also add the missing information that you may probably missed during the lesson. It can also help us to deepen our own understanding to a certain topic. Studying at a silent place like a library will help you to focus as well.
06. Study in the Right Frame of Mind
"If you’re distracted or otherwise not in a good mood, you’ll have trouble focusing."
Are you fine? If not don't start studying as it will make you more distracted by your thoughts. Only study if your mind is clear and only dedicated for studying, and not thinking of other problems. If you really need to study and you're troubled, try calming yourself down by doing breathing exercises and relaxing. Also remember to take a few breaks in order to relax your mind.
