WEATHER UPDATE | THREE WEATHER DISTURBANCES MONITORED

PAGASA is monitoring three tropical cyclones outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as of Saturday afternoon, August 22.

Typhoon Saudel was located 2,555 kilometers east of Northern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 150 km/h and gusts of up to 185 km/h.

Tropical Depression Gaenari was located 660 kilometers north-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, and is not expected to re-enter the PAR.

Another Tropical Depression was located 1,055 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas. A brief entry into the PAR remains possible.

PAGASA is also monitoring the effects of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), which is bringing cloudy skies, scattered rains, and thunderstorms over parts of Northern Luzon.

Residents are advised to continue monitoring official PAGASA bulletins for possible changes in the weather situation.

𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗡 𝗜 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬

Alternative work arrangements in government offices and alternative learning modes and learning continuity measures in public and private schools will be implemented tomorrow, August 20, in the National Capital Region and 17 provinces, including Zambales.

The measure comes as the country prepares for continued heavy rainfall brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), along with the risks of localized flooding and hazardous travel conditions.

The public is advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.

ZAMBALES — The province is under an Orange Rainfall Warning as the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to bring heavy rainfall over the area.

Heavy Rainfall Warning No. 6 was issued at 11:00 a.m. on August 17, 2026 (Monday).

The advisory warns of intense rainfall within one hour and in the succeeding three hours, with flooding threatening low-lying areas. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and monitor the situation, particularly in flood-prone areas.

The public is urged to take necessary precautions, stay updated through official advisories, and prepare for possible flooding.
