Alternative Learning Arrangement | August 19–21, 2026

Pursuant to the memorandum issued by Malacañang, General de Jesus College will implement the following arrangements:

For August 19 (Wednesday) and August 20 (Thursday), 2026:

1. No face-to-face classes. Classes will shift to online synchronous learning.
2. School offices will remain open for regular transactions and services.

Please also be advised that there will be NO CLASSES and NO WORK on August 21, 2026 (Friday) in observance of Ninoy Aquino Day.

𝗚𝗝𝗖 𝗔𝗟𝗨𝗠𝗡𝗜 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗙𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗢

GJC Alumni Association officers, headed by Alumni President Ramon Santos and Alumni Coordinator Emily Chico, met with GJC President Dr. Jeffrey P. Franco to discuss plans and activities of the alumni association.

The meeting covered proposed programs and initiatives aimed at strengthening alumni participation and coordination with the College.

The discussion supported collaboration between GJC and its alumni community in line with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

𝗚𝗝𝗖 𝗔𝗟𝗨𝗠𝗡𝗨𝗦 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗦 𝗗𝗘𝗣𝗘𝗗 𝗗𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗘𝗙 𝗢𝗙 𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

General de Jesus College proudly recognizes the achievements of Mr. Andrew A. Villarba, a distinguished alumnus of the College of Education (Batch 2004), who currently serves as Division Chief of the Bureau of Alternative Education – Program Management and System Development Division, Department of Education Central Office, leading programs that strengthen the implementation of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) nationwide.

Holding a Doctor of Philosophy in Education major in Educational Management and a Master of Arts in Education major in English, Mr. Villarba has built an exemplary career in education through progressive leadership roles as teacher, Subject Area Coordinator, Chairman of Co-Curricular Activities, Assistant Principal, and Basic Education Principal, while earning multiple Presidential Leadership Awards, Employee of the Year (2013) recognition, and publishing research in both local and international platforms.

From serving as College Student Council President, Editor-in-Chief of The Link, and editor/writer of Ang Tulay during his years at GJC to becoming one of the country’s education leaders, Mr. Villarba continues to exemplify GJC’s mission of developing competent, service-oriented, and transformative professionals, advancing Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.

Face-to-face and onsite classes at General de Jesus College are suspended on August 6–7, 2026, due to the expected heavy rainfall brought by the typhoon and the southwest monsoon or Habagat.

There will be no office work on August 6, while office operations on August 7 will be until 12:00 noon only.

Classes shall continue through the appropriate Alternative Learning Modality. Students are advised to coordinate with their teachers and regularly check their official class communication channels for instructions and learning activities.
