PUBLIC ADVISORY | CTU adopts four-day workweek under energy-saving mandate

Cebu Technological University (CTU) informs its stakeholders, clients, and the public that it has adopted a four-day workweek schedule from Monday to Thursday, effective March 9, pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 114 issued by the Office of the President as part of strict energy conservation measures across the country.

Under CTU Memorandum No. PC07-081, s. 2026, signed on March 7, 2026 by OIC-University President Dr. Denilin P. Batulan, all campuses are directed to implement the Four-Day Workweek Scheme under Flexible Work Arrangements (FWA) in accordance with Civil Service Commission Memorandum Circular No. 01, series of 2025.

The measure forms part of the university’s strategy to reduce electricity consumption, optimize operational resources, and minimize fuel use while supporting the government’s energy-saving initiative.

To sustain academic and administrative operations, CTU implements modified work and class arrangements. Teaching personnel in both day and evening programs retain their regular weekly teaching loads, with Friday classes conducted through online modality.

Meanwhile, non-teaching personnel observe a Monday-to-Thursday work schedule from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, or any arrangement that satisfies the 40-hour weekly requirement.

Through these adjustments, CTU ensures that energy conservation efforts are implemented while maintaining the continuous delivery of academic support, student services, and administrative operations across all campuses.

Stakeholders and clients with transactions at the university are advised to schedule their visits and official business within the Monday-to-Thursday work schedule.
