Aquino underscores importance of education in attaining national progress P-Noy stresses the importance of education and a well-informed citizenry in maintaining the country’s progress and development as embodied in the Aquino government’s social contract with the Filipino people.

Ecijano weightlifting coach to train in Hungary

Leonardo Llena of San Antonio, father and personal trainer of his daughters Patricia and Lea Ruth, both champion weightlifters, is set to fly to Hungary this September to attend a weightlifting coaching course at the Semmelweis University Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in Budapest.

His course will cover general conditioning, including theory, methods, practice, and training.

Llena will join coaches from over 100 countries in the coaching course sponsored by the International Olympic Committee Solidarity in partnership with the International Weightlifting Federation headed by the Hungarian President Tamaz Ajan.

He will be the only Filipino to attend the training and was recommended by the Philippine Weightlifting Association President and Philippine Olympic Committee Chair Monico Puentevella who is reportedly a friend of the Hungarian President.

Llena was a national champion and record holder in weightlifting and powerlifting before becoming a national coach. # # # NUEVA ECIJA JOURNAL
