The Flag Raising Ceremony at San Pascual Senior High School 1 last July 13, 2026 served as a meaningful opportunity to remind learners that responsibility begins with the choices they make each day and is reflected in even the simplest of actions.
In her inspirational message, Mrs. Annabelle E. Santos, Guidance Designate, emphasized that responsibility is not measured by grand gestures but by the willingness to do what is right, even when no one is watching. She pointed out that it is common to hear remarks such as, "May cleaners naman," or "May utility naman," whenever chairs are left disorganized or litter is seen inside the classroom. These seemingly ordinary situations reveal one's true sense of responsibility. She challenged every learner to take initiative in caring for the classroom and school facilities, encouraging them to replace the question, "Sino ang gagawa?" with "Ano ang magagawa ko?" Through this mindset, learners cultivate accountability, discipline, and a genuine concern for their school community.
Reinforcing this message, Police Raymond Dayagan reminded the students that their future depends largely on the decisions they make today. While acknowledging that environmental influences, including social media, can affect one's choices, he stressed that every learner remains responsible for safeguarding their values, thoughts, and future. He encouraged everyone to make wise decisions, avoid actions that may lead them astray, and strive to become responsible, disciplined, and exemplary students. He expressed his hope that every learner of SPSHS 1 would be remembered not for being troublesome, but for being respectful, responsible, and committed to excellence.
As members of the SPSHS 1 community, may we continue to embody the value of Responsibility by taking ownership of our actions, caring for our environment, and making choices that inspire others. Together, let us build a culture where everyone asks, "Ano ang magagawa ko?" and takes the initiative to make a positive difference.
