Let us support EAHS Brigada Eskwela 2024! Kick-off July 22, 2024
"Brigada Eskwela," also known as the National Schools Maintenance Week in the Philippines, is an annual initiative by the Department of Education (DepEd).
The primary goal is to prepare public schools for the upcoming school year by conducting clean-up and minor repairs. This ensures a conducive learning environment for students.
It involves teachers, parents, students, alumni association, community members, local government units, and private organizations. This collaborative effort fosters a sense of community and shared responsibility for education.
Activities include cleaning classrooms, painting walls, repairing furniture, and landscaping school grounds. Some schools also conduct health and safety checks.
Brigada Eskwela typically occurs a few weeks before the start of the school year.
Participation is voluntary, but it is highly encouraged. The program emphasizes bayanihan, the Filipino spirit of communal unity and cooperation.
Contributions may include paint, cleaning supplies, construction materials, and even volunteer labor. Donations of school uniforms and PE uniforms and other school needs of the students.
