I closed down our Mamihan business.

It's been more than three months of operation and last week, we closed it down.

There's some miscalculation and misjudgement that contributed on why we closed it down.

We opened it last august thinking na magsstart na ang class by August. We are wrong! The class starts at last week of October. However, we will still open it kahit na walang class kase sobrang taas ng confidence ko sa product na inooffer namin. It's unlimited mami for 50 pesos, then binaba namin for 35 pesos. Isa pa ding factor bakit namin yung itutuloy ay mura lang yung place, its just 10 thousand a month. It's compare sa ibang place within the vicinity. Akala ko mababawi yun sa benta, pero mali.

The class starts on the third week of October, pero wala pa ding bumibili samin. I miscalculated. The buying behavior of people from PUP had change. Hindi na katulad nung panahon namin that looked for cheap food. There are some factor that influences the changes of buying behavior. I just learned it after failing/closing.

PUP demolished their main building, para tayuan ng mas malaking establishment to accomodate the bigger number of students. This results is fewer students in the main campus, at yung students dun ang target market namin.

The class is hybrid, this means students go to school less. This one really dictates the changes in buying behavior of the students. They would buy more expensive foods kasi minsan lang naman silang pumasok, so mas hindi sila nagtitipid.

Our location isn't that great. Though, dati kasi, kapag lunch ay napupuno ang lahat ng kainan at pinupuntahan namin yung mga kainan na medyo malayo ng konti sa main street (teresa st.). Kaya alam ko na aabutin ng student yung lugar na yun. Ang problema ay hybrid ang class, konti ang student at mas may perang pang gastos ang student and choose to buy expensive food.

I dig down to the problem agad and haven't describe the product. My vision about it is just pwede mong gawing staple food. Pag gustom ka, sa price na 50 or 35 pesos, meron ka nang makakain at mabubusog ka. The taste is decent. The noodles is high in quality, walang borax kaya walang after taste na mapanghi or mapait. It's way better than noodles na mabibili sa palengke. The soup, it taste beef mami, nothing special pero unlimited na sya kaya sulit na sya. It's just a simple beef mami na pwede mong kainin pag gutom ka. I want it that way.

Gusto ko na kapag gutom ka, you can eat a decent food at mabubusog ka. Masarap. Walang masyadong chemicals.

We put that business, maybe, at a right place but at a wrong time. It's been more than a decade simula nung grumaduate ako, a lot of things has changed. Baka nga yung income status ng pumapasok sa PUP ay nagbago na din. Dati kasi, hindi naman mapepera ang pumapasok sa PUP, baka iba na din ngayon.

Madami pa akong nakikitang mali at kulang. I thought product is enough for it to flourish. I'll keep that knowledge that I learn in putting that business. Sayang lang. I lost a money at the time that I can't afford to lose it.

It's been two months when we first open our UNLI Mami Restaurant. Another "I wish" i could say na kumikita na sya, pero hindi. Hangang ngayon ay nalulugi pa din sya.

I am really in a bad financial situation now, hehe. We are losing money in our main business and even this business, nalulugi pa din kami.

Nagkamali ako ng projection, I thought PUP will open in August and not only I made a 1 month mistake, it's fu***ng THREE months!

Ayun, walang customer, swerte na kung maka 10 na customer kami sa isang araw.

I did try to run a promotion, some social media promotion pero kung wala naman kasi talagang tao, wala talagang bibili. Now, we are even selling an UNLI MAMI for 35 pesos only. Grabe na ang baba nun.

I rented that place, kasi I know na malakas yun pag may pasok na. Well, i'm already 2 months deep at 1 month na lang magsstart na ang class. Hopefully, kumita sya.

Ang hirap magnegosyo.

This is our first physical store. Medyo matagal na din kaming may online store, more than five years na. Pero ngayon lang kami nagkapagtayo nito.

I wish i could say that this is a happy milestone for us, pero hindi. Circumstances push us to do this. Our online business is losing money. Facebook deleted our FB page without any notice of what violation we made. Kaya ayun, we are kinda forced to do this.

Iniisip ko na din naman talaga na magtayo ng physical store. I have a huge inventory ng silver jewelry, humihina na ang benta namin ng mga accesories, so mas maganda if we will put up a physical store. But not in this way. We don't have money to open up a store, our main business is lossing money. Wala kaming pangsustento dito till it can earn by himself without money na nanggagaling samin.

It hurts so bad that we are burning money na wala naman kami. I'm very thankful to friends na nagpautang ng pera samin and also sakto din naman na pwede akong mangutang ng pera sa bangko. Pero sobrang grabe yung hirap.

It's been a month since we opened it. Mahirap at hindi pa kumikita which is expected sa pagbubukas ng tindahan. Wala kaming customer and essentially just building a customer base. Hopefully, i'm praying and working na kumita na sya.

We just open our first UNLI Mami Resto (sana madami pang susunod). No grand opening promo, walang pakulo, walang ingay. We just open the store.

Hopefuly, God will bless us that this Resto will prosper.

Nakakatakot mag-open ng business. Sobrang nerve wrecking.

We just open a new business. A restaurant that offer Unlimited Mami for 50 pesos. We will also make our own noodles at duon mismo sa Restaurant gagawin yung noodles.

The idea is so simple, and I really believe that it will work. (Why would I start it when I don't believe it).

We did a dry run last week but fully open the restaurant this week. I didn't do any promotion or any marketing activity for the opening. The idea is to familiarize on the workflow so that when the class officially start, at dumami na ang customer alam na namin ang gagawin namin.

Kahit na ganun yung plan ko, nakakatakot pa din na wala halos bumibili when we opened. This monday, 6 customers lang ang bumili samin. Habang iniisip ko sya ngayon, hindi na masyadong masama yung anim given na kabubukas pa lang namin. Pero kanina, parang nakakapanghina na kaagad ng loob yung konti lang ang bumibili.

Hopefuly, maging succesful itong venture na ito.
