| Beyond a Job: TNHS Students Discover Strengths and Market Demands for the Future✨️
Grade 10 and Senior High School learners of Tagbitan-ag National High School (TNHS) gained valuable insights into career planning and future employment opportunities during the Career Development Support Program (CDSP) held on September 8, 2026, at Tagbitan-ag NHS.
The activity was conducted through the strengthened partnership of the Department of Education (DepEd), Local Government Unit (LGU), Public Employment Service Office (PESO), and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
The session began with Ma’am Maricel L. Cinco, Guidance Counselor II, who discussed the importance of understanding what a career truly means. She deepened that it is more than seeing it as a job, rather it must be understood as a journey of development of skills, gaining valuable experience suited to one’s interests leading to the fulfillment of personal and professional goals.
DOLE representatives Ma’am Angie Ceniza and Ma’am Janine Prieto provided learners with information on in-demand occupations and current labor market trends. They emphasized the importance of understanding the skills, qualifications, and competencies currently sought by employers.
The discussions reminded learners that choosing a career should not be based solely on personal preferences. While interests are important, career decisions should also take into account one's abilities, qualifications, skills, and the actual opportunities available in the labor market.
More than a career orientation, the activity reflected the shared commitment of DepEd, LGU, PESO, and DOLE to prepare young people to become informed, skilled, confident, and future-ready individuals capable of making sound decisions about their educational and career paths.
Thank you DEPED, LGU-IGACOS through PESO and DOLE Offices for the continued guidance and support to our learners!
