LOOK: School of Tourism Management at OMSCโSablayan Campus Leads the Way in Sustainable Tourism Partnership
The School of Tourism Management of OMSCโSablayan Campus proudly took center stage in the formal signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Sablayan on February 16, 2026, at the Ramon Magsaysay Gymnasium.
Anchored on the theme โEXPLORE: Enhancing Experiences and Products through Local Orientation (Sustainable and Ecotourism), Research, and Engagement,โ the initiative highlights the Schoolโs strong commitment to academic excellence, research-driven innovation, and community-based sustainable tourism development.
The partnership strengthens the role of the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) program in advancing local tourism planning, product development, and stakeholder engagement. With the leadership of Program Head Mariane Carolle A. Labindao, the School continues to bridge academic instruction and real-world applicationโempowering students to become future tourism professionals equipped with practical experience and a deep sense of community responsibility.
Key highlights of the event included the Message of Commitment from Municipal Mayor Hon. Walter โBongโ B. Marquez and Campus Director Dr. Julie U. Lopez, as well as the first engagement initiative under EXPLORE presented by Richard Ryan E. Mendoza. The ceremonial signing of the MOA formally solidified the collaboration between OMSCโSablayan Campus and the LGU, marking a significant milestone for the School of Tourism Management.
The program concluded with closing remarks from Sanggunian ng Bayan Member Hon. Clarinda Alvares, reaffirming the shared vision of building a sustainable, inclusive, and research-oriented tourism sector for Sablayan.
