‎MATH WEEK 2026 – DAY 1
‎Σ SIGMA DAY
‎Theme: “The Sum of Our Success”

‎The first day of Math Week 2026 successfully commenced with the celebration of Σ Sigma Day, bringing together students, faculty, and guests to celebrate unity, learning, and the collective journey toward success in mathematics.
‎
‎The program opened with the welcome remarks of Campus Director Leine S. Alcaraz, MBA, delivered by Sir Herald Sen S. Mateo, MAEd as proxy, warmly welcoming everyone and setting the tone for a meaningful and inspiring celebration.
‎
‎An uplifting inspirational message was also delivered by Sir Herald Sen S. Mateo, MAEd, reminding students that perseverance, dedication, and passion for learning are essential elements in achieving success.
‎
‎We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our guest speaker, Ma’am Juvy D. Verdida, Teacher I of Sabnahis and proud BSEDMT Batch 2022 Alumna, for sharing her valuable knowledge, experiences, and inspiring words with us during Σ Sigma Day, the first day of Math Week 2026.

‎On February 27, 2026, the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Sablayan Campus came alive with artistic flair and mathematical marvels at our highly anticipated event: M-ART-H Matter Month. In honor of Art Month, we hosted a vibrant contest that highlighted the exceptional talents of our BSEDMT students, featuring both a painting competition and captivating promotional video presentations.

‎As the clock struck 4:30 PM, the Library transformed into a gallery of stunning artworks, each piece a unique celebration of creativity intertwined with the beauty of mathematics. Our talented BSEDMT students showcased their innovative spirit, reminding everyone that art and math are deeply connected.

‎We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Sir Herald Mateo, our dedicated adviser, whose leadership and unwavering support made this event possible. Your guidance inspired us all, and we are grateful for your commitment to our growth and success.

Every 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡, the nation observes 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 to raise awareness about the importance of fire safety and preparedness. In line with this, 𝐏𝐔𝐏 𝐒𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 actively participated in the campaign with the theme, “𝑺𝒂 𝑷𝒂𝒈-𝒊𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒔𝒂 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒐𝒈, 𝑯𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒊 𝑲𝒂 𝑵𝒂𝒈-𝒊𝒊𝒔𝒂.” The theme emphasizes unity, cooperation, and shared responsibility in preventing fire-related incidents within the community.

Fire Prevention Month serves as a reminder that preventing fire is not the responsibility of one person alone. It requires collective effort, awareness, and preparedness. By working together and staying vigilant, the PUP Sablayan community proves that in fire prevention, no one stands alone.
