With hearts united in faith, the Ignacian Marian Council Officers (IgMaSCO), together with Mr. Cris Perocho and the RVM Sistersโ€”S. Mary Irene Cajandig, RVM, S. Ma. Gina Rama, RVM, and S. Ma. Agrifina Miguel, RVMโ€” joined the Welcome Mass of Our Lady of Guadalupe at the Metropolitan Cathedral and Archdiocesan Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, which was presided over by The Most Rev. Victor B. Bendico, D.D. This National Pilgrimage forms part of the 9-Year Intercontinental Guadalupana Novena, journeying toward the Quincentenary Jubilee of the Apparitions of Our Lady at Tepeyac Hill.

May this celebration deepen our faith, strengthen our devotion, inspire us to live as witnesses of hope and service, and serve with courage, humility, and love, always carrying the light of Christ wherever we go. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿคโœจ

The last day of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines Region 6 Assembly for the year 2026.

Day 2 began with a Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Rev. Fr. Paul Lovell Javier, OP, followed by a short snack break, then the CEAP Executive Director Update and the session โ€œCatholic Educators and Leaders as Witnesses of Hopeโ€ by Fr. Rarel San Juan, SJ, CEAP President. After that, Bro. Bo Sanchez lead the session โ€œFamilies and Schools: Patterns in Forming Hopeful Hearts,โ€ followed by an open forum and lunch.

The afternoon continued with the Regional Discernment Workshop, where students mingled with their fellow youth, conversed and reflected to the theme of CEAP 6, and Synthesis led by Fr. Marc Adrian H. De la Peรฑa, OP and Angelicum School Iloilo, followed by regional updates, the Oath-Taking of the new Regional Youth Leaders, and the Commissioning of Schools. The program then concluded with a closing message from Rev. Fr. Jose Gualberto I. Villasis, PhD and many raffles for those who registered since the first day. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿคโœจ

During the talk of Bo Sanchez, a Filipino author, entrepreneur, Catholic lay preacher, motivational speaker, and minister, on God being in your futureโ€”Despair, which makes us feel helpless, and Insecurity, which makes us feel worthlessโ€”Ignacian Marian Jannah Yzzah Paula U. Acevedo took part in the open forum with a question about creating a more honest and supportive school community.

โ€œTrue community cannot be built on a facade, yet so many of our peers are drowning in secret hopelessness because they are terrified of looking weak. In a world dominated by social media and high expectations, how can we create a culture in our school where students feel safe admitting they are struggling rather than putting on a โ€˜perfectโ€™ mask?โ€

Bo Sanchez responded by encouraging people to be themselves and not be afraid to show their weaknesses, because vulnerability can inspire others who are going through the same struggles to think, โ€œThey are just like me. If they can do it, I can do it too.โ€

The discussion also highlighted four ways of facing hopelessness: Feel Your Feelings, Feed Your Frame, Find Your Family, and Follow Your Faith. Above all, it reminded everyone that God is in our future and that faith gives us hope even when we cannot yet see what lies ahead. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿคโœจ

For a two-day assembly at the Ateneo de Iloilo - Santa Maria Catholic School, we witnessed the proud student leader representatives of Saint Maryโ€™s Academy of Capiz at the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines Region 6 Assembly:

The event began with registration and a Eucharistic Celebration led by the Most Rev. Cyril B. Villareal, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Kalibo, and the priests, followed by snacks and the opening program. The participants then listened to a keynote address on newness in Catholic education by Rev. Fr. Raymond Joseph L. Arre, followed by an open forum and lunch.

In the afternoon, a session entitled โ€œBeyond the Screens: Understanding the Hearts and Minds of Todayโ€™s Learnersโ€ was introduced to us by Dr. Renz Christian C. Argao, followed by another open forum, snacks, and to concludeโ€”an introduction to the very first implementation of CEAP's Youth Regional Council, holding the elections tomorrow August 25, after the Holy Mass.

May the student leaders represent SMAC with faith, excellence, and service and carry the Ignacian Marian spirit wherever they go. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿคโœจ

The third Privilege Speech of the school year was delivered by Hon. Flord Joaban, Auditor.

In his speech, he highlighted the importance of school safety, shared responsibility, and cooperation in creating a secure learning environment. He encouraged everyone to support the school's security measures, practice kindness and respect, and work together to ensure that every learner feels safe, valued, and protected.

The second Privilege Speech of the school year was delivered by Hon. Alfreah Lyra Ong, Grade 12 Congresswoman and Speaker of the House.

In her speech, she emphasized that true equality means not only enjoying the same rights and opportunities but also accepting the same consequences for one's actions. She reminded the council that genuine leadership is shown through accountability, integrity, and setting a good example by upholding fairness and responsibility.

The Ignacian Marian Student Council Officers (IgMaSCO) successfully conducted its Second Monthly Parliamentary Meeting last July 24, 2026, moderated by Mr. Aledel Christian Alejandro.

The meeting featured privileged speeches from the Speaker of the House and the Auditor, reports from the Congressmen and Congresswomen, committee updates, the approval of Project: GREEN, and discussions on proposed amendments to the Constitution and By-Laws, which were later rescheduled for further deliberation.

The council will commit to responsible leadership, professionalism, and dedicated service to the Ignacian Marian community.
